Create a mascot for the glasgow 2014 commonwealth games with a story

i need to create a mascot for the glasgow 2014 commonwealth games, could be a plant, insect or animal etc thats maybe native to scotland or has something to do with scotland.

then i was hoping to come out with a background story for the character & turn it into a comic strip or childrens storybook.

the story could be based on a scottish folk tale or a well known scottish character so for example the mascot could be the great yellow bumblebee & his story could be based on the braveheart film where he goes to war with bee's or hornets from england & saves his patch of grass or whatever.

can you get it done for me in about a week?
