Cloud performance Analysis

I want to do performance analysis of a cloud.I want to create an application(java) and provide it in a cloud environment and use the performance of that application to rate the service.I just want to code the application part and the performance tracking.I am not going to hire a cloud I am just going to create a virtual cloud.This is my college final year project so it need not be very complicated or professional keep it simple.Cost is not a constraint but I need it to be finished before 4th March.
