C Programmer - Device Integration.

Need a C programmer to program additional functionality on a mobile Point Of Sale (POS) device.

The device will be running a version of Linux as the Operating System (OS) unfortunately I dont know which varaint. The development will need to be done in C. The device will come with a Software Development Kit (SDK) and be WiFi enabled.

In a nutshell the developer will need to make the device do the following:

1. Read data from a magnetic card using the device's card reader.
2. Pass that data to a .NET webservice (webservice is already written).
3. Recieve a response back from the .NET webservice (webservice is already written).
4. Print out receipts using the device's printer.
5. Some of the buttons on the device will need to be programmed as 'Shortcut' buttons to call different webservices.

I cannot provide too much more detail at this point as the project is for a large retailer, and as a result before I award the project to a developer I will need them to sign a confidentiality agreement.

Developers from the UK will get a higher preference purely based on the fact that I need someone who can understand and speak english fluently, aswell as being able to have face to face meetings.
