We are looking for advice to change the ownership percentage in a limited company (SPV) without tax implications, if it is possible.
We are only changing the structure of the company to be able to apply for a mortgage. We don’t want to transfer funds, if possible.
One of the shareholders holds over 20% of the shares and lives in outside the UK. Most lenders won't accept a buy-to-let application if one of the applicants lives abroad and holds more than 20% of the shares.
Al mortgage advisors have suggested we change the percentage of ownership in the company, in order to apply for a mortgage.
