QuickBooks submitting VAT returns overriding outstanding returns

Assistance is needed to purchase and configure what i believe is called bridging software to integrate with QuickBooks for submitting VAT returns. A number of past VAT filings are currently under examination by HMRC specialists due to prior delays. Me and my accountant I require guidance on choosing and implementing bridging technology, as well as instruction for its operation, to allow the accountant to lodge concurrent VAT returns while older submissions are addressed. The accountant will continue managing accounts; only set up support is required to satisfy HMRC's agreement that returns are never again belatedly filed while prior year reviews are ongoing. Advice on viable options besides bridging software, such as alternative technical solutions, would also help move this project forward.
