Hello everyone,
I am British, but recently moved to South Africa and am seeking guidance on managing my affairs.
My partner, a South African citizen, and I own a UK limited company (The 29th Cure ltd) established in November 2023. Initially created for our upcoming product, aimed at the UK market, the company has accrued several expenses documented thus far, yet it has not generated any revenue.
Additionally, we want to operate our tour operating business (Hints of Africa) in South Africa under this UK company, which we understand may not be the optimal structure. We would appreciate advice on restructuring this arrangement.
Furthermore, I engage in freelance work and invoice clients through our limited company. Currently, there is no PAYE setup, resulting in income that isn't readily accessible. We are in the process of obtaining a PAYE reference number from HMRC and plan to establish payroll once this is received.
I acknowledge that I no longer qualify as a UK resident, having spent more than 183 days outside the UK last year and anticipating the same going forward. Consequently, I am seeking guidance on the appropriate jurisdiction and procedures for taxing any personal income I earn.
As such, we are seeking someone who can adeptly navigate both the UK and South African tax systems, providing advice on the most cost-effective methods for our ongoing operations.
Your insights and recommendations on these matters would be greatly valued.
