I recently took on a new employee. In the first week I kept asking what he had done and he kept giving lots of excuses. He was saying his internet was not working and he was also moving house. I then decided to check his social networking sites and noticed that he was working with another recruitment company which does exactly the same as what we do. I called the company and they confirmed that he was working with them. I tried to call him quite a few times but he did not answer.
I then called him with a private number and that is when he answered. He told me that he had been trying to get hold of me without any success and he also said he was offered a better salary elsewhere. I asked him to put everything in writing but he didnt.
He is now not picking my calls. It looks like he came to us to take information about our clients so he could contact them.
I am looking for advice on how I can end his contract and if there is anything I could do legally.
