I don't have a requirement on the number of words rather content needs to be structured, clear and to the point. It needs to be understood and have appeal to average individuals as well as to an investor

I've seen short papers written for Executives that were only 2-3 pages and I've even seen term sheets for investment appraisal believe crammed into 1 page. Sometimes it depends on the relationship between the Investor and the business promoters though.. if you've been through past rounds of funding with an investor or PE entity then there's been some exchange of words/communications between the parties and the documentation could be a little less formal for example.

In other instances you may need to warm people up to the market proposition and your unique positioning towards it.

I haven't read all of the two docs provided but scanning them there seems like there's solid content to build an industry on. I'm guessing that you've included them as you like them as Professional looking documents. It will be easier to write something with those to perhaps work from. All that said there's work to do to 'out' and throughly and clearly represent your position.

To try to get some common ground re what's expected Nigel perhaps half of a proposed document could be priced based on pulling together market commentary based on those documents and a few other sources. The other half would need to be closer to a writing from scratch scenario, about your business it's prospects, it's merits.

There's fairly standard rates for Business technical writing to base a quote on. If you want a similar document to those in your Brief I'd suggest aiming for 25-35 pages with half priced at editing rates and half at unique business writing rates.

Is that anywhere near what you require and does it seem a reasonable basis to propose on Nigel?
