Description:
WEREN’T BORN RICH C.I.C (WBR) is a Community Interest Company based in London, offering a range of products and services for the benefit of the community.
Founded in 2016 by Nabila Nakigozi, a then 15-year-old with sickle cell disease, WBR is a community interest company that aims to empower young people to pursue their dreams regardless of the bottlenecks in their way to success.
Nabila was inspired by her personal experiences after not growing up with much in Uganda and living in one of poorest boroughs in London, whilst going through the downs and turns of Sickle Cell Disease.
These challenges always fuelled negative energy within her, which she felt was becoming toxic. After a lot of reflection, she realised it was much better to channel the negative energy into something positive that would then inspire others. Because fashion is a global language that all young people relate to, it was a no-brainer for her to channel her energies into a clothing brand.
Though various entities/ institutions are doing great efforts, there is still a big vacuum left and WBR is one of those coming in to help fill the gap.
Since our inception, WBR has engaged with a number of youths in various occasions and platforms and we have come to conclude that youths are not short of innovative ideas but just lack encouragement and motivation.
Our mission is to inspire and excel

SECTION (A): SOCIAL OBJECTIVES
Being a social enterprise, 65% of our profits are invested in the wellbeing of our community through projects such as;
Raise awareness of sickle cell disease in population which are at greater risk with the hope that through education and promotion of tolerance we will be able to ease suffering
Provide coherent awareness of the adverse effects of which sickle cell disease has on the health, social, emotional, financial and educational wellbeing of those who has this disease and in turn the negative impact it presents to family and care givers who support them.
Support and empower youths through motivation towards innovation and entrepreneurship.
Work in partnership with established rehabilitation centres, care, health providers and local authority in relation to the need of helping youths suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and mental health problems.
Nabila Nakigozi suffering with Sickle Cell Anaemia (SCD) who was 15 years old at the time founded WBR in 2016. The motivation behind her innovation was driven by her impoverished lifestyle, which fuelled and determined her to channel her negative energy into something positive and inspirational.

I suggest that the two Word documents should be made available but the financial plan should be reserved for the successful applicant. IT is private to the CiC and revealing to all and sundry is not a good practice.
Just trying to assist from vast experience.
