I need advice on my 6 month notice period

I am a full time employed worker (my title is Documentation and Compliance Analyst) and my employer has locked me into a 6 month notice period in my contract. I've worked here 9 years and want to work somewhere else but I'm finding it really hard to find a job that's willing to wait 6 months.

I'd like some advice on what I can do. I may also need help writing something that states my early leaving clearly, with grounds that support my leaving that sounds sane, reasonable and irrefutable.
