About this position
The Battery Systems Development team at SmartIQ requires Engineers with experience to lead the technical development of an internal or a customer-focused battery project. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the technical solution of a functional, safe, and compliant system or a sub-system. Responsibilities:
• Lead battery systems and sub-systems design, development and delivery to the project timeline.
• Decompose system and sub-system requirements to a component level.
• Develop and support verification, validation and integration strategy, and testing from prototype phase through to homologation.
• Support derivation of the technical/functional safety concept.
• System and Design reviews, DFMEA, risk analysis.
• Technical drawings and production documentation reviews.
• Conduct root cause analysis.
• Providing support to assembly and testing teams during product operations.
• Providing support to ongoing products and process improvement.
• Ensuring product conformity to standards and best practices.
• Driving product safety based on an analytical and risk assessed approach.
• Leading technically focused meetings.
Requirements:
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or Systems Engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in automotive systems or industrial experience within a complex multidisciplinary product environment. Experience with HV Battery systems and knowledge of system design with Lithium based battery cells.
• Understanding of Systems / Requirement Engineering & Tools.
• Experience with PLM systems (3Dx, Teamcenter, Creo) - Knowledge of project life cycle management from early R&D to series production.
• Experience in product design, knowledge of production process and best practices.
• Experience in safe working practices around HV systems, legislative requirements, and homologation standards.
• Experience with MS Office tools.
• Very good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is essential.
