Hi all,
I subscribed to a service late last year and after cancelling my subscription with this company, problems with the PayPal automatic direct debit meant that the payment went out again even though I was no longer received the service. The company was only a small company run by one or two people and I spoke with the owner who assured me that payment would be returned after Christmas.
I kept chasing him up and he kept promising it would be sent, then eventually about 6 weeks ago he assured me he had sent a cheque. When I didn't receive it he apologised and promised to send me another one, which surprisingly didn't arrive either.
I have his number and email but I am ideally hoping a solicitor or similar legal professional would be able to call him on my behalf and request he send the payment ASAP. It's only £200 but it's £200 I really can't afford to write off, so I thought I'd see if maybe he'd respect the request from a lawyer a little more seriously.
He's not a bad guy, I just don't think he's that bothered about it so I honestly think one phone call will probably be enough. Obviously with the payment being £200 I can't really afford to pay that much to recover it but I really think it will be minimal effort.
