Hi - I need some help understanding some NHS guidelines. My daughter is in hospital, and we're trying to get the authority who pays for her care switched from Solihull/Birmingham to Lincolnshire where she lives. The NHS publish guidance for all authorities in England - "Who Pays? Determining which NHS commissioner is responsible for making payment to a provider v2". It's fairly straightforward is as much as it states: "The authority responsible for paying for care is the once where the patient's GP is registered", In my daughter's case this is Birmingham - she was on a visit to her mum's house when she was admitted to hospital, The problem is, when she is discharged she will return to Lincolnshire where she lives; Birmingham are now trying to move her out of the hospital where she is now, back to Birmingham - and we want to stop this. In the document mentioned above, there is a Section D, specifically clause 13 which seems to provide exceptions to the commissioning policy. I need someone to review and provide a lay-person interpretation. Thanks.
