Investigation into Freehold and Leasehold

I have posted a job for splitting a title on a building so it becomes two separate properties ie flat and a shop. There are some issues with the lease as the original conveyancing solicitor I think were negligent in there dealing with it and failed to contact the freeholder or property management company as they said they do not exist. However, after I bought the place I found the freeholder and also the property management company and they said that I am in breach of the lease as have not paid the ground rent

I need help in getting this sorted out and trying to buy the freehold as well as making a claim against the original solictors as I believe they were negligent
