- Identifying potential overcharging or billing discrepancies.
- Providing a detailed Excel report linking each billing entry to the corresponding invoice.
- Advising on recoverable fees from a third party and preparing necessary documentation for recovery.
Skills Required:
- Proven experience as a Costs Draftsman with expertise in legal billing disputes.
- Ability to draft and prepare a comprehensive Bill of Costs.
- Familiarity with legal billing practices in the UK.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Experience preparing documentation for disputes involving the Legal Ombudsman is a plus.
Deliverables:
- A clear and concise Excel report of all billed time and fees.
- Recommendations on how to proceed with the dispute, including next steps for potential escalation.
- Optional: Assistance with preparing a submission to the Legal Ombudsman if required.
