Debt Recovery

Basically im just looking for a legal letter to be sent to a person who I believe is liable to the loss of a Racing Greyhound I purchased that through is negligence had to be put to sleep. The dog was placed with a professional trainer affiliated to the GBGB. He is refucing to reimburse me so before going down the small claims court avenue I would like to send a strong letter first.
