Description

SEPG Treasurer (South East Psychotherapy Group)
The SEPG was formed with the aim of making psychotherapy more widely accessible to people requiring skilled therapeutic help with their emotional difficulties.
The current treasurer has been doing the role for 26 years as honorary treasurer (she is also a member) but she would like to pass this job on in order to free herself up for other things.
The main aspects of the role are detailed below:
1.Accounts
Keeping account sheets for annual auditing at end of financial year in time for AGM in June
2.Subsidies
- Listing patients receiving subsidies
- Filing receipts from patients
- Bills are paid to therapists who sign to acknowledge receipts for patient to send to treasurer, who fills out withdrawal slips, previously signed by a trustee. Cheques are then withdrawn from bank and posted together with compliment slips to patients.
3.Subscriptions
- Recording members subscriptions, and any donations. Currently we have 25 members. Some pay by standing order, some by credit transfer and others by cheque.
4.Gift aids
Keeping record of Gift Aids and claiming refund online from Inland Revenue at end of financial year.
5.Auditing.
- This is only necessary if our turnover is greater than £10,000. However we are required to have the accounts scrutinised by an independent examiner. Our accountant prepares the annual statement. It is up to the treasurer to send him the accounts, and receipts at the end of the financial year.
- Members business meetings are held 3 times a year, including the AGM which is also attended by the trustees. The treasurer usually attends these meetings so preference will be given to applicants from London/Kent who are happy to have a degree on on-site involvement.
6.Treasurers report
Providing Treasurer’s report for AGM, and mini reports for trustees meetings and business meetings
7. Trustees Meetings
Providing account sheets to date and information re subsidies etc.
8. Saturday Seminars
Keeping record of those attending and their donations, recording deductions for refreshments. Calculating balance to be included for gift aids claims.
Currently we are anticipating this role being 3-5 hours per month but this will be more fully detailed when we understand what duties the successful candidate will be able to take on.
Please detail you experience in the field and let me know if you are understand that on-site attendance at meetings will be required as per above.
Please note telephone interviews will be undertaken with the current treasurer.
