SME Business Valuation Expert Needed

We are looking for an experienced SME business valuation specialist or M&A adviser to provide an opinion on the valuation of our UK courier and logistics business which is currently for sale.

The business operates within the time-critical and same day courier sector and has been established for many years with strong repeat business, healthcare sector positioning, bespoke booking systems and UK/European customs-supported operations.

We have already prepared an Information Memorandum and have started initial discussions with potential buyers. Feedback received so far suggests that the valuation may not currently be presented in the clearest way.

We are therefore looking for somebody experienced in SME acquisitions and valuations to review:

• The current asking price

• EBITDA multiple assumptions

• Treatment of surplus cash and balance sheet strength

• Enterprise value vs net asset value presentation

• Whether the valuation is realistic in the current UK SME M&A market

• How the valuation should best be presented within the Information Memorandum

• Whether the deal structure should be repositioned differently for buyers

• Any improvements that would strengthen buyer confidence and credibility

The ideal person will have real-world experience in:

• Selling or acquiring SME businesses

• Corporate finance

• M&A advisory

• Business brokerage

• Investor presentations

• Deal structuring

Experience within transport, logistics, courier, freight forwarding or distribution sectors would be highly beneficial.
