This project seeks a comprehensive examination of the duty-free mall landscape worldwide with close attention paid to any relevant establishments in Ethiopia. The findings will guide investment and development plans for large-scale commercial retail centers.

The research focuses on gathering data for duty-free malls or those with duty-free components generally 20,000-50,000 square meters in total gross floor area and retail space exceeding 20,000 square meters. Information collected for each center includes general details, size and layout, tenant mix and unit breakdown, amenities, parking provisions, notable brand names or features, and year opened or anticipated completion.

Key data points encompass the mall name, location, developer, gross floor area, built-up area, land size, number of retail stores and their average sizes, food and beverage outlets and sizes, anchor tenants and their space, duty-free area size if applicable. Amenities covered are lounges, children's play areas, entertainment zones, and parking metrics such as bay count and total parking area. All sources will be cited and attached in the final deliverables.
