The Role:
To support its continuing growth, Tokyoesque is currently looking for a Market Research Project Manager to join its team. As a Project Manager, you will be in charge of organisation and overall delivery of each project and to help scale up the business. This freelance role will lead to a full-time position for the successful candidate.
As part of your duties, you will be:
- involved in different types of projects such as desk research, quantitative/qualitative research, semiotics, localisation/interpretation as well as trade mission organisation for medium-size and blue-chip companies
- understanding client needs, incorporating them into the research and communicating them to other project members as required
- building client relationships on a daily basis, and updating them on the progress of their projects
- managing a team of researchers and freelancers and helping them to best organise their work and deliver a world-class service
- reporting weekly and monthly on timesheets and productivity in order to analyse project efficiency
- suggesting new tools and methodologies to the management team to facilitate operations and improve output
- managing the admin around projects (client contracts, freelancers' contracts, freelancer's timesheets, survey respondents' payments, etc.)
- sourcing new freelancers and ensuring upcoming projects are adequately resourced
sourcing new suppliers such as market research platforms or survey reward providers
The ideal candidate would have the following skills:
- University diploma with a project or programme management qualification
- 3+ years of experience working as a project or programme manager for a market - research agency, advertising agency (skew to creative more than media), or a consulting firm
- Fluent Japanese and English speaker
- Previous experience working with both UK/European and Japanese businesses
- Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in management of external stakeholders and a small internal team
- Creative and proactive problem solver with great sense of autonomy and can-do attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Commercial acumen and proactivity in thinking about what is best for our business growth
