Google Map Property Search

We need someone to spend their day looking for flat and pitched roofs on Google Map’s Earth view. We will give you areas of central and greater London to concentrate on and it will be your job to look for medium to large buildings (usually blocks of flats and offices) which have flat and pitched roofs. We are not interested in houses, only medium to large flat surface areas. It’s easy to work through entire boroughs in a matter of hours. You will most likely scan over rows and rows of houses and eventually come across a large surface area in the same colour (as seen from a bird’s eye view). The building name is usually on Earth view, but in some cases you may have to use Google Street View to find the name of the block of flats/address. As an example, type ‘Buckingham Lodge, N21’ into Google’s Earth View. It is easy to see this is a block of flats from bird’s eye view and it even has the name of the block on the screen. Jot down the name of this building and the area into an excel spreadsheet and send us a weekly report. Just south of Buckingham Lodge, you can see a building named ‘Victoria Stakes’ – this is a smaller surface area but also something we are interested in. Just north of ‘Buckingham Lodge’ there is a building called ‘St Georges Lodge’ – this is also something we are interested in. So, with these 3 properties in mind, a typical excel spreadsheet will look like this:

Another example – type in ‘Shepherd’s Hill, Highgate’ into Google’s Earth View. As you can see, nearly every property in this entire street is a block of flats with a flat roof. These are exactly the type of buildings we are interested in.
