I am looking for a contractor with an advanced degree in medicine, public health, or health education to work with my company to create a Health Education certificate program that will be completed through online courses. The requirements for the job are below:
1) Create a certificate program that contains at least eight courses and is equivalent to at least 37 quarter hours of credit.
a. The certificate program content will be delivered through online courses.
b. Each credit is equivalent to 20 hours of instruction and work (i.e., a 5-unit course needs to contain at least 100 total hours of instruction, reading, and/or assignment work)
c. At least one of the courses needs to be a field practicum course- sample syllabus for such a course can be found at the following link: http://coe.unomaha.edu/hper/hed4990/HED%204990%20Syllabus.pdf
d. Each course within the program must contain a complete course syllabus
2) Ensure that the course content will meet the requirements for students to apply for and successfully pass the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) exam upon completion of the certificate program.
a. Course content must cover all of the competencies listed in the Seven Areas of Responsibility for Health Educators provided by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (http://www.nchec.org/_files/_items/nch-mr-tab4-89/docs/areas%20of%20responsibility%20and%20competencies%20for%20health%20education%20specialist%202010.pdf)
b. Assignments, evaluations, and tests for the online courses should be similar to those that are used on the CHES exam and address the competencies listed in the Seven Areas of Responsibility. Sample questions for the exam can be found here: http://www.nchec.org/dzapps/dbzap.bin/apps/assess/webmembers/tool?pFile=home&pToolCode=TAB2&pCategory1=TAB2_QUICKLINKS&pCategory2=TAB2__QUICKLINKS_PUB&webid=nchecsite
3) Each online course should include content such as: video clips, audio clips, textbooks, essays, case studies, and tests.
a. Each course should provide some sort of multimedia content; you may produce your own audio clips or video clips to put into the course environment or you may obtain these components from other sources. If you chose to obtain the multimedia from other sources, you must verify copyright clearances.
b. Textbooks chosen to include in the course should include those listed (or similar to those listed) on the CHES exam preparation site. Recommended textbooks can be found here: http://www.nchec.org/exam/docs/nch-mr-tab4-91.htm
In order to apply for this job, please create and send a proposal that outlines the following:
1) A description of the certificate program you will create
2) A chart that lists the number of courses, the names of each course, and the number of units per course.
3) A syllabus for each course that describes a general description, the course objectives, course assignments, necessary textbook(s), grading rubric, and the competencies from the Seven Areas of Responsibility that are being covered within the course. Please remember, all competencies from the Seven Areas must be addressed by the time a student has completed the certificate program.
4) The timeframe you will need to complete the entire certificate program.
All material you submit in the project proposal will be exclusively owned by you unless you are selected for the position.
After the bidding has closed, we will evaluate the proposals and select the contractor that has the best combination of relevant experience, education, and program designed. Any certificate proposals that do not fully address how the course content will cover the competencies listed in the Seven Areas of Responsibility will be discarded. We will provide the online course environment to host the certificate program, but the contractor will be responsible for developing the course content and loading the content into the online course environment.
