Description
Experience Level: Expert
A residential development in the South East has completed its foundation piling — thirty bored piles into chalk. The planning permission requires a verification report by a suitably qualified engineer.
We are looking for a signed statement, one to two pages on your own letterhead, giving your professional interpretation of the completed records on two questions:
Do the integrity test results mean/demonstrate that the installed piles are sound?
Do the monitoring records demonstrate that the works caused no adverse ground or structural movement?
Your opinion would be based on the documents already produced, which we will provide in full: low-strain integrity test results for all thirty piles, the complete structural movement monitoring log, the original geotechnical assessment, the approved construction method statement and the piling contractor's method statement.
You are entitled to rely on the factual data in those reports — the survey measurements and test results — as accurate and complete. The judgement as to what that data demonstrates is yours.
Requirements: CEng or CGeol chartership with membership number, and professional indemnity insurance covering a signed statement to a planning authority.
