Charity expert required

A small UK charity seeks assistance from an experienced charity law professional to guide them through converting their organizational structure. As this charity has been operating successfully for several years as an incorporated association, their trustees now wish to take advantage of the benefits of becoming a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). Their annual reporting is fully up to date, and the current trustees will remain in place, so this conversion should be a straightforward administrative process.

The selected freelancer will be expected to have comprehensive knowledge of UK charity law and the CIO registration process. They will need to review the charity's existing governance documents and provide guidance on any necessary revisions to comply with CIO regulations. Preparation and submission of the application to create the new CIO on the Charity Commission website will also be required. The freelancer should be prepared to answer trustee questions throughout the process.

Experience successfully completing multiple CIO conversions is preferred. The goal is a smooth transition with no disruption to the charity's established operations or work in their local community. Candidates submitted for this role should demonstrate both legal expertise on UK charity structural forms as well as client service skills to advise the trustees and see the project through to completion. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are essential for this role.
