Audio Recording of an Elder Reminiscing About Their Past (2-4 mins long)

Here are the deliverables we seek:


1) Audio:

Interviewee can be any member of your community (grandparent, uncle/auntie, etc.).

He/she should be reminiscing about any moment of their past that particularly stands out to them (school, childhood, parents, holidays, first job, struggles setting up their business, war, etc.)

The recording need only be 2-4 minutes long.

Audio can be recorded with a phone but quality needs to be great - be conscious of keeping ambient noise and interruptions to a minimum.


2) Images:

Images that relate to the audio recording need to be scanned (high quality) and sent along (e.g. old photos of the person as they were at the time of the recollection, photos/memorabilia surrounding the moment they are recollecting, any other relevant images).

A minimum of 1 photograph per 15 seconds of audio recording is required (e.g. 8 images for a 2-minute recording).


3) Historical Information:

2 sentences of historical information to accompany the recording - e.g. if a person is recounting his/her childhood in the 30s in the US it might be appropriate to specify that "The 1930s in the US was characterised by the great depression and economic uncertainty…"
