Hello,
Talented voice over artists (preferably with own home studio) required for "Curse of the Red Death" - a short movie based upon the story 'Masque of the Red Death' by Edgar Allen Poe. We require 2 x female and 2/3 x male voices for the currently uncast roles. The characters concerned are:
"Melinda" - a strong minded, feisy, independent young woman. She's a lead character and features throughout the entire story;
"Peasant Woman" - A middle aged lady, anguished, worried - frantic even. She appears in one scene only, requesting help for her sick daughter. She then gets seriously abused by the so-called doctor. This is a short role, but an important one as it hints at certain mysterious goings-on;
"Christian" - The Rosicrucian Priest - This character has one scene, but it's a substantial one. He's an OTT doom-mongerer. However, despite his evangelical zeal, he has an subtle air of evil about him, and his manner of speaking even suggests a connection with the 'dark arts':
"The Narrator" - The narrator is the voice of a pulp fiction writer - Jake Hanson (played by a live actor) The narrator relates/enhances the story throughout the entire action.
"Prince Prospero" - Flash, wealthy, middle aged, Prospero lives a decadent and hedonistic lifestyle holed up in his Bavarian castle. That is, until the Red Death Phantom infiltrates it, whereupon (whilst trying to seduce "Melinda" the aforementioned young woman) he meets a bloody and utterly nightmarish fate!
I'm uploading a synopsis and list of character profiles document with this post. The running time of the movie is around 20 minutes.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post and here's hoping we'll have the pleasure of receiving your bid!
With best wishes,
Lee Gaskin
