To develop a Marco codding on excel

I need to develop a Marco codding on excel to duplicate any changes on different workbooks and sheets.
Basically, we are doing our planning on 5 different workbooks and different formats, however they all trace back to the same reference number being used for each individual line in excel. The changes with regards to a specific reference number will then have to be reflect in each workbook or sheet with the same reference number, including color changes.
