Communications benchmark data I provide by comparing the times for sending messages one way to a linear theoretical model needs to be analysed.
Use the data I have collected over a wireless network (this will be supplied). The file consists of two columns; the message size in bytes and the one way time in seconds.
The theoretical model you should compare with is linear: time =m�message size�c
Where time and message size are measured in seconds and bytes respectively. For my data the parameters
take the values:
m = 3.40 10-7 sec/byte
c = 9.00 10-5 sec
Draw three graphs, each showing data points from the measured data, and a curve obtained from the linear theory (with the parameters given).
1.Overall graph: time vs message size for all messages (linear x and y axes).
2.Latency graph: time vs message size for small messages (say up to 130bytes). This graph is just a blowup of part of the first graph (linear x and y axes).
3.Bandwidth graph: Bandwidth vs (log) message size for all message sizes (log x axis, linear y axis).
