Description
Experience Level: Expert
Under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 there has to be a H&S File for every construction project in England. It is not a good name - the HSF is in fact a kind of building archive. It should contain "as built" drawings; schedules; operation manuals for boilers etc; and details of what was installed where. We work as CDM Consultants for contractors, architects and clients, and as part of that we produce H&S Files.
We need someone who can take on the production of a number of project H&S Files. This means working with contractors, architects and designers to find out what information is going to be needed in the File, obtaining that information, keeping it safe, and producing the final document which indexes all the information. Most of this process is done electronically, using Google Drive, Dropbox, and Word and PDF docs. Occasionally we deal with hard copy and sometimes that has to be scanned.
We organise our work using Smartsheet. We have templates to use for the H&S File, and there are videos explaining what to do.
Sometimes you will start from scratch and manage the whole HSF production.
Sometimes you will take over a project where some work has already been done.
You will invoice us at the end of each month for the hours you have worked, detailing which projects you have worked on and for how long. Number of hours per month will start at about 10 and then increase as you become more competent and take over management of more H&S Files
ESSENTIAL: You MUST
Be working in the UK because sometimes you will need to phone people and post documents
Have excellent English skills
Be competent in using Dropbox; Smartsheet, Google Drive, Word for Windows and PDFs
Have good personal skills as you will be dealing with our clients (architects, contractors, designers)
Learn quickly how to produce the documentation using our format and templates
PREFERABLE: it would be GOOD if
You use Apple, because your formatting needs to be compatible with ours
You have some understanding of construction / refurbishment projects, architecture, etc.
