Hello
PLEASE NOTE: This is a virtual role, but it would be useful if you were able to drop in to my home in Kent to collect post but not essential.
I live on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent. I have been a marketing and project management professional for over 20 years, until recently when I became disabled by a chronic (long term) illness. Unfortunately, the illness can intermittently make things like writing, maths and understanding information challenging as it has affected my brain and I also lack energy on most days. This means that I cannot fill in forms e.g. for disability, respond to council or household supplier letters. I also spend time researching my illness, contacting health bodies and chasing appointments. But some days, I just can't do anything at all, yet the world doesn't stop around me so I end up fire fighting when the symptoms ease and it's torturous!
I'm looking for someone that can manage my personal affairs in a professional and timely manner. You'll need to be understanding and a little flexible because my body just doesn't work on demand. I need to get someone on board now who will be with me at least until the end of March and can commit to about 8 hours per month.
I don't mind when the hours are done, BUT YOU MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO MAKE CALLS DURING M-F 9-5. The rest can be at midnight in your PJs as long as it gets done within 1-2 working days as agreed. I am mostly available between 4-8pm because those are the best hours for me mostly, but some days are different.
The things I will need help with first are urgent and therefore you will need to be able to dedicate 4 hours this week, with a 2 day turnaround on tasks. Here's a rough list of things I would like help with, although this will evolve over time.
- I can dictate copy e.g. for letters or emails.
- I need help collecting post from a mailbox weekly
- Keeping on top of hospital or consultant appointments
- Sorting out problems with badly behaving suppliers e.g. utility, which may need advice from the CAB or an ombudsman
- Completing forms for disability
- Chasing up people or sorting out problems on the telephone
YOUR ATTRIBUTES:
- Working within a 2 working days turnaround
- Completely confidential as you will be dealing with sensitive personal data
- Able to video chat with me occasionally (first 20 minutes will be a getting to know each other call) at a preagreed time between 3 and 8pm
- Have access to a printer, scanner, internet and telephone
I'm on a limited budget, so I am looking for around 10 hours this month on an hourly rate of £10ph depending on the amount of work. The £10ph budget must include paper, printer ink, envelopes, internet usage, call costs and 1st class stamps. Most of the work will be via email and telephone, but there will be a letter occasionally required for some suppliers that are uncontactable via the first two methods, or if a complaints procedure requires posted letters. However, any recorded delivery or other special postal services would need an additional payment from me.
