Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
By way of introduction, I am Jess and about 18 months ago I set up a mental health support community - Run Talk Run. We meet for weekly 5km jogs (currently in 20 locations) as a means to provide that support for our peers and facilitate a safe space to talk about our mental health. The run leaders are encouraged to remind people that it is a safe and confidential environment to use the run as however is needed, and then set off for a gentle all-ability-welcoming 5km jog. The basic premise, is to make both running and mental health support more accessible (and less intimidating).
Our goals for 2019 are to increase the number of locations in which we're running. I am not as concerned with increasing the number of attendees at each run particularly, since the intimate nature of the run lends itself nicely to smaller groups.
I am also in the process of seeking sponsorship, and applying for grants, with the aim of being able to invest more of my time into the cause and being able to support my run leaders with the training and mental health support necessary to make this a safe and sustainable growth for the community.
I have noted that my recent grant application I made was not anywhere near as detailed or effective as it should be (attached) and I am now looking to outsource the applications for grants. This matters to me more than words can say.

You are right Jessica, it's a woeful document.
Have you exhausted Sport Eng. as a grant provider? Did they comment on your application?
