The founder is now working mostly on other projects and the website runs itself to a certain extent - we have administration, product management etc. all delegated.
But this role is effectively answering to the CEO / founder and replacing him as manager.
What's involved:
Overseeing and reviewing daily the staff tasks - check support tickets to see we've answered correctly, make sure orders are sent out on time and if not speak with suppliers to find out why and resolve.
You MUST be technical. We sell home automation technology so a previous life as an engineer, electrician or similar. You will have access to our most popular products in order to test and become fully proficient in answering customer sales questions or tech requests (you will have access to 2nd line tech support with suppliers, but you will help with initial questions).
Calling back customers who request sales or tech information.
Being the first point of call for our small team of staff if they need approval, feedback or help with anything.
Remote working, you must have your own office and telecoms.
Be knowledgeable in web technologies such as Google docs, Skype, etc. (everything is run web-based here).
Most importantly the CEO needs to trust 100% that you can manage the day to day operations alone.
References are essential, this is a very important role.
Will also discuss a share of profits each quarter/year if you're able to streamline the business and increase sales. Its a rapidly growing market so good prospects for the right person.
We can discuss hours but I expect it will require you to be available for around 5 hours a day.
I've not specified an hourly rate so you can tell me what you're worth and why (the profit share could also be a negotiating factor)?
