Details of Project
Data Entry
We receive a number of Excel CSV files form vendors/suppliers. These need to be transferred into a different format, also in Excel, for which a template will be provided.
Each file typically contains from 1-200 lines, up to 1500 lines.
Missing Information
Not all details are available from the vendor. Where a detailed description is not provided by the vendor you will be required to locate that description on the Internet, and paste it as plain text in the correct field in the CSV file.
Sometimes a short description (Title) is also not provided, so you will be expected to use your judgement to enter a short description based on the information provided.
TAGS
The template file has spaces for tags. The tags are primarily the part codes/numbers for each line item. The tags should combine each variation of part number i.e. No spaces, no dashes/hyphens, and the number as supplied in the original file.
Other Data
Some fields are populated using a formula. These formulas will be provided. However, the calculated values will need the formula stripping once entered to avoid conflicts with future SQL imports.
Price Matching
We match prices against a major competitor. Each price will need to be checked against this supplier, and then our price updated using a simple price calculation we will provide. The basic process involves entering the price ian the website of a competitor and then applying a formula to that price to derive our selling price.
Examples
We can provide you with an example of a supplier file, and the target template for the purpose of price quotation for the job.
Job Size
After an initial small job to demonstrate your quality and approach, this will become a regular requirement, typically a few files per month on an ongoing basis.
Quality Checks
We will expect to make random and continuous checks on quality to assess our instructions are being followed correctly, and to ensure the information meets our design criteria. You will be expected to correct any errors or quality issues free of charge.
Budget
Job sizes and effort vary with the work. Each new set of data will have a fixed price agreed upfront, therefore you should bid on the basis of numbers of parts to process. i.e. A file with 100 part numbers to process will pay less than a file with 1000.
