Description
Experience Level: Entry
The following catalog is for my supplier, who's products I need to sell on my website.
I need the catalog converted into the folder and file structure that I describe below, so that it can be read by my CMS later.
You need to name the folders and files accurately so that they will be read by my CMS.
This job is only creating folders and files and sending them to me in a zip file. You will not be loading them into my CMS.
Here is the catalog http://www.barron.co.za/
To view the catalog click on the links at the top: APPAREL, WORK WEAR, CHEF WEAR, SPORT, HEAD WEAR, GIFTS, GIVEAWAYS, BAGS, DISPLAY
I need the whole catalog saved into a neat folder structure, saved in a zip (or 7z) file and then sent to me.
So the root folders should be
apparel work-wear chef-wear sport head-wear gifts giveaways bags display
* catalogues excluded
Every folder must be filled with every item inside it.
When a item type, product category, or product name contains a space, replace the space with a hyphen - (not an underscore, underscores are only used inside filenames (to separate product code, brand, item type, category and name))
So for example the apparel folder will have the sub-folders
bottoms golf-shirts kids ladies-corporate-wear sweaters fleece-tops jackets knitwear shirts t-shirts
Then for example, inside the jackets folder there must be subfolders
midland-bodywarmer, fishing-jacket, angler-jacket, etc, etc (all items)
I have completed one sub sub subfolder, as an example.
You can see a screenshot of the view of the folder attached to this job.
Inside the zip file you will find the example files there.
Every type of item (apparel work-wear chef-wear sport head-wear gifts giveaways bags display)
and every product category (meaning every subfolder in the item type)
and every product in each of those categories, must be completed in the folder structure in this same way as this example.
------------------------------------------------------------------
The product folder must contain 2 image files named as follows
{PRODUCT_CODE}{two underscores}barron{PRODUCT_TYPE}{PRODUCT_NAME}.png
{PRODUCT_CODE}{two underscores}barron{PRODUCT_TYPE}{PRODUCT_NAME}_colours_sizes.png
for example
BO-MID__barron_jackets_midland-bodywarmer_sizes_colours.jpg
BO-MID__barron_jackets_midland-bodywarmer.png
If the item is not clothing, for example this pen, does not come in colours and sizes. just call the details image
{PRODUCT_CODE}{two underscores}barron{PRODUCT_TYPE}{PRODUCT_NAME}_details.png
So http://www.barron.co.za/products/Tapered%20Aluminium%20Ballpoint%20Pen.aspx
Images would be named
BP3005__barron_gifts_writing-instruments_tapered-aluminium-ballpoint-pen.png
BP3005__barron_gifts_writing-instruments_tapered-aluminium-ballpoint-pen_details.png
----------------------------------
Every product folder, in addition to the images, must also contain 2 text files
colours.txt (British English spelling, not USA) containing the list of colours the product comes in.
* If no colour information exists for the product, then do not include the colours.txt file.
details.txt copy and paste the textual details from the product page into this file, as per the example.
==============
When you save the information you must not take screenshots.
The transparency of the png files must be preserved. If you save the image as it exists in the original catalog (for example, right click the image and save it), the transparency will be preserved. If you open the png image inside a good graphics program (for example ImageMagick) you will see the background is transparent.
