Title of post: Bookkeeper/Accountant
Responsible to: Directors
Contract basis:
This is a new role in IFAM the role will be re-evaluated after six months. The post is therefore offered as a 6 month position for someone who is self employed with the possibility of becoming permanent and put on payroll.
Initial temp 6 month position commencing June 2013.
Part-time – 5 hours once a Month (flexibility with prior agreement)Terms and conditions as per contract.
Function of post:
To enable the organisation to achieve it’s objectives by being a professional point of contact and managing the day to day bookkeeping(see below).
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
Bookkeeping to profit & loss stage, including:
Producing monthly statements
Financial reports
Credit control
Bank-statement reconciliation
Monitoring weekly/monthly cash flow
Annual entry of organisations accounts (extra fee for this can be discussed)
The above to be maintained on our accounting package
Responding to relevant email enquiries
Any other duties as agreed
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Attainment
Evidenced achievements eg; relevant qualifications/training.
It is preferable to have a bookkeeping Qualification or equivalent
Typing/Word Processing
Trained in an accounting package (example. Quickbooks, Sage etc)
Experience
Type and amount of experience and specific knowledge required for the job.
Relevant Bookkeeping Experience
Experience of working in a Charitable Organisation
Good working knowledge of MS Excel program
Knowledge of Microsoft Office & Internet
Experience of using an accounting package (example. Quickbooks, Xero, Sage etc)
Aptitudes
Skills and abilities required for effective performance.
Excellent interpersonal skills (eg; communication, self-awareness, building trust, question-ing & listening, influencing, assertiveness, problem solving, decision making)
Numerate & Literate
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent telephone manner
Attention to detail
