AWS file handling, calling Oracle SQL and emailing

Hi,

I'm considering moving an application to the Amazon Web Services cloud. I have got an AMI and now would like to see if I can replicate the application's existing bash script on AWS.
I'm not sure whether it's possible in AWS but if you believe that I can do the following on AWS, I will create a job and ask you to quote me for it.
I don't mind how the following is implemented, just whether it can be done.

1. Check in a particular directory every n minutes for new '*.dat' files
2. If present, create a log file and loop through all of them, oldest first, check archive to see if the file has already been processed. If so email sysadmin address and exit.
3. Otherwise copy the file to a new fixed name, so it can be recognised as an Oracle external table.
4. Run an Oracle stored procedure by calling SQLPlus.
5. Check whthehr a '*.bad' file has been produced and email sys admin if it has.
6. Run a second Oracle stored procedure using SQLPlus call.
7. Zip a file and archive it.

If it looks like a possibility I can give the AWS details and provide the existing bash shell script.
