Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Dear GhostWriter,
Since 1969 I have worked part-time as a Crypt (Cryptologist) for the NSA. I started that employ when I was 13 years old. Since that start I have both cooked and, cracked Cryptograms.
In 1983 I was asked to extend my Federal service to one week a Month of part-time work for the CIA in Northern Europe.
In 1994 in a work related event I was thrown off the kitchen balcony of my home on the island of Maui. I fell 11 feet and, my neck was broken. It took one year to heal and, get back to working again.
In 1998 what I did for the CIA landed me in a Swedish prison for over a year until they bought me out.
On April 21st, 2007 while riding my Harley Heritage Softail Classic in Alabama I had my next and, I hope my last work related near death experience. I was quietly riding my bike when Max a Russian member who really hated my guts pulled his car aside me like he wanted to pass, but he didn't. When Max pulled alongside me he caught my eye, then smiled and, waved goodby then he turned in knocking me off the road and, into a tree at 75 MPH.
I was 6 months in a coma and, after I awoke my wife of 22 years divorced me after we were told by my Physicians that I would never walk again. When I asked her why, her only response was that she didn't want to push me in a wheelchair until I died.
During the next year I had 19 surgeries on my body and, spine at the University Hospital in SLC. I then had 11 surgeries on my eyes at the University Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
I then spent 1 year in a body cast. To top it off I had to endure Months of inpatient rehab in Arizona to just learn how to walk again. We are still working on going up and, down stairs.
So why "DeathWaltz???"
It's the story of my life. What I did and what they do is more than wrong, and evil... It's Satanic.
I have carefully crafted about 50% of this book.
I have written this book just here and, there since getting out of Prison in 1999. Last May I was told that I had a malignant tumor in my left frontal lobe. After they popped out that tumor they told me that my Cancer had metastasized into my colon.
I just got out of the Huntsman Cancer Center in SLC. I am told that I have a time limit on my life.
I have got to have "DeathWaltz" completed and, published ASAP or the bad guys win.
So that's why I am going to contact several ghost writing agencies. Since 1986 on the side of it all I have been writing. To date I have been published by some of the biggest boomers in the publishing arena. For example Simon & Schuster did my very first book.
You will come to understand if I choose to work with you that I am a bit of an overacheiver. In between all of this I completed a Doctorate degree in Economics after 12 years of part-time University study.
The subject of Economics has been the center of my 18 published books and textbooks. Almost all but with the exception of my 14th. My 14th book was titled "Embraced by the Light." That wonderful book I self published. That incredible book hit number one on the New York Times Bestseller's list and, stayed there forever. Talk about fun!!!
I have no doubt at all that if done right "DeathWaltz" will do the same if not better.
Why??? "DeathWaltz" will blow open and, detail exactly the unholy marriage between the NSA, the CIA and, The Mormon Church. Said simply all three of them do some very naughty things to earn untold millions of dollars and, to expand their tentacles all around the World.
What do they do??? You are going to just read the book.
So, why do I need help??? I write non-fiction well. But that required writing style is nothing but cold hard fact after fact. To make each completed chapter beautiful just takes too much time. And, time is not something that I no longer have.
I am sending with this message all intro and, the first opening chapters of "DeathWaltz." This should give you a taste of what I want and, need done with "DeathWaltz's" second half.
For all remaining chapters I have all titles and, I have chapter expansion road map materials for each.
Read through. Think. Dream. Then call me.

Onward and Upward,

“DeathWaltz”
“Blackmail, Bribery, Blood, Horror and Terror as Practiced Today by the Unholy Marriage of the NSA the CIA and, the Danite Faction of the Mormon Church”
“DeathWaltz” is my true life story
Marc Stephan Garrison
If I speak out I am condemned
If I remain silent I am damned…
“For my dear six children, I have written this to explain why I was always gone for work when you were growing up and, why in 1998 I was gone for the entire year. Right now there is nobody on this Planet - other than those that sent me - that really know the why of that heart breaking absence…”
"To my muse Rose Bud. I thank God that you are in my life.”
A Special Thanks
Before my “DeathWaltz” is frozen in time by my publisher I feel an acute need to thank our God for just a few of the things that have made Marc the Marc that he is today.
In Art it would be the Impressionist Camille Pissaro, the post-impressionst Vincent Van Gogh and, today's Vangogh of contemporary SouthWestern Art my true friend Paul Chenoweth.
In Literature it would be John Steinbeck, William Faulkner, Jane Austen, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Giovanni Boccacio, Lewis Carroll and, Voltaire.
In Economics it's the concepts of the “myth” of true value, optimal choice, behavioral economics, evaluating risks and, false inentives.
In Mathmatics it absolutely without a doubt would be the very personal and, almost spiritual trial of wading through, surviving and, finally understanding the concepts of integral calculus and, my very own gift from our God “logarithms,” Pascal's triangle, probability, linear regression modeling, Fibonacci numbers, the joy of 9, the imaginary number I, the number e, chaos applied, derivatives / integrals, Newtonian mechanics, visualizing slopes and circles and belts, owls and rats and waves and guitars, quantum theory, factoral function, infinity, probability, modular clock arithmetic and, mountain slopes and tangent planes.
In Music it would be any Opera that's Puccini, in Hard Rock it's Jethro Tull's pounding yet beautiful “Locomotive Breath” ( I love Ian Anderson's flute solo,) in Country it's Sugarlands's cover of the B-52's song “Love Shack,” in Jazz it's everything Norah Jones and, in New Age it's absolutely anything Sarah McLachlan.
In History it's any and all Civil War, the life story of Gustav Vasa who was the autocratic leader of the year 1521 Swedish War of Liberation and, the Old Testament's Prophet Ezekiel.
In Nature it's tulips, the aroma of a carnation and, an orange blossom, the blaze of any tropical fish, the smaller then hand sized true monkeys that come from the upper canopies of Brazil's, Ecuador's and, Peru's rainforest that are found in Stockholm Sweden's open air Museum Skansen (one of the only places in the World that you will find them on display) and, a huggable loyal until the end Golden Retriever. named Jodi.
Again thanks my friends.
DeathWaltz
There exist secret organizations all around the World devoted to furthering their purposes through espionage, blackmail, bribery, and more. An operative who tries to leave is said to have begun their “DeathWaltz” This is a story about one such person, me.
NOTE
Although this book is my true life story, not all the events portrayed actually happened exactly as told, though most have. Nor do / did all the characters in this book actually exist though most do. And, yes I even have had to bury several things / areas of my life that I am not brave enough to face by myself all alone in the still darkness of the night.
The sensitive nature of the issues that this book deals with are of the nature that if told harshly straight they not only could embarrass a lot of people but, may even ruin some people's lives – and also if I don't do this absolutely right I could even destroy some.
I have really got to dance around some hot molten lava with telling this – my life story... I do not want to hurt anybody unless they so deserve. I also do not to ever want to go back to jail again. I would not be able to endure being locked up in solitary confinement a second time. So, what's real and, what's memorex with “DeathWaltz???”
It's all real...
And, that is my problem with having to so carefully tell this my story...
The existence of a secret organization (the Danite Faction) within the “Mormon / LDS Church” that carries out the kinds of activities portrayed in this book is factual, based on my own experience.
Although I believe devoutly in the divine mission of the LDS Church and am deeply committed to the accomplishment of its mission, I do not believe any longer that the secret organization portrayed as the "Danites" in this book is divinely inspired or appointed.
I hope that the publication of this book will provide the impetus needed for the Church to cleanse itself of what I now believe to be a tool of Satan.
One last thing...
Last May an Oncologist that I had been refered to told me that I had an malignant brain tumor in my left frontal lobe. So, on June 2nd they popped that baby out. A week later while still in the Hospital they told that my cancer had metastasized into my colon.
So, on June 26th I let them take that out. So, where am I at now??? Actually no where. Everything is still and, very quiet. But, I don't trust my quiet. My luck in life has sucked...
After Prison in 1999 the first that I did was to try and, divorce my wife. It just didn't work. But you already know that my being disabled pushed her over the edge. The very second thing besides loving up my kids was to start writing this book at a very comfortable pace. Life happened but I wasn't running at all with telling my story. By April 21st of 2007 I had 10 plus Chapters done. All were beautifully crafted and, polished then comes what happened last May. My “O” Doctor gave me 17 Months. I feel great but...
I have to face my body's music. “DeathWaltz” has to be 100% complete in a matter of a couple Months. So I have no choice but to crank it up from a literary snail's pace to a full blown out sprint.
After Chapter 10 my writing style has to change. There just is not time for beauty.
I need to write this like every single book that I have ever written since 1985. Cold, non-emotional, ugly and, just plain blunt as Hell with fact after fact. So, please do not get upset with me. I just have no other choice. It's either that or the bad guys win.
Introduction by Michael Scott Anderson
“DeathWaltz” is the “Da Vinci Code” of Mormonism and the NSA / CIA. While “DeathWaltz” is part ”Oceans 11” and part ”Bourne Identity” “DeathWaltz’ is based on the true life story of Marc Stephan Garrison from May 15, 1969 when at the age of 14 he started as a Crypt with the NSA. 29 years later in 1998 Marc was arrested, sentenced, and put in a Swedish prison for Industrial Espionage.
Then after prison Marc's story continues until April 21st, of 2007 when while on a road trip with one of his Harley Davidson Motorcycles someone that he known known from his work since 1983 rammed him off the road. Marc and his motorcycle hit a tree at 75 MPH. Several hours later someone saw his motorcycle light that was still on. That person stopped, found Marc in a pile of rubble, called 911, marked the site with a flashlight on the road then left.
Marc was taken by chopper to the nearest Hospital trauma unit. Coma, multiple surgeries, one full year in a body cast, then for what would be another 18 Months of Physical Theraphy he learned how to walk again.
Working for the “Solutions Group” Marc traveled mostly to Northern Europe one week a month for just over 15 years, The 15 years does not include the year that he spent in solitary confinement while in prison in Stockholm, Sweden. Marc’s cell for that year was a square meter cube. No toilet, a concrete floor, a light that never went out, minimal food so that he would take the fruit (apples, oranges, bananas,) cookies, chocolate bars and, candy that Sweden's Security Police offered him in exchange for ratting on the 13 local Swedes that he had either blackmailed or bribed so that he could get them what his handlers told him to get.
If you are actively seeking a fresh / brand new / highly explosive / original thriller then this is your book. “DeathWaltz” is based on the astonishing accounting of the true life story of Marc Stephan Garrison who was caught in the dichotomy of his belief in his Church and Government as a youth and the cold realities experienced as a NSA Crypt for 14 years and, then as a covert Operative for one of the CIA’s / Danite faction's darkest Agencies – the Solution’s Group for over 24 years.
In this book Marc exposes the shadowy secrets of the Mormon Church Danites and it's unholy marriage to the NSA and, the CIA. Marc’s experience with the US government’s darkest agencies as well as his personal struggles for clarity are expertly shown.
Today Marc is seeking to work out his own salvation from the ugliness he committed in their service during his 180 plus assignments in Northern Europe - (Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Norway) - Russia (both before and after the fall of Communism) - and, the rest of our World. Marc believes that his salvation will not be accomplished until “DeathWaltz” is published and marketed throughout the entire World.
This book “DeathWaltz” will teach the World’s business leaders how to put an absolute stop to the billions of dollars that are lost each year to the Solution Group’s Mormon Industrial Espionage machine…
With that money machine backing up Marc he had success not only in Scandinavia but also in the Leningrad (pre fall) and the postfall / St. Petersburg region of Russia. Out of over 180 assignments he only blew one. That blown assignment cost him almost 1 year of his life in solitary confinement in Sweden’s most dreaded maximum security prisons. It also cost him his marriage.
My name is Michael Scott Anderson. For 25 years I’ve known Marc Stephan Garrison as a trusted business associate, friend, deeply religious man and, a good father. I also experienced during that time a nagging and vague awareness that he lived a very different, hidden reality separate from the one I knew. During the last several years Marc’s concealed world has contacted mine and a few others close to him in very disquieting if not frightening ways.
Of the many activities I have seen Marc involved in over the years is his passion for writing. This talent emerges as one of his most prolific. He has written a number of books, many of which have become bestsellers, all of which were created with the express intent of helping others. Marc is now writing a new book, “DeathWaltz”, that will be very different than any of his previous offerings. This book is being written with the specific intent to save the author’s mind, body and soul. For Marc, this is a cathartic journey of self-healing where he is challenging his previous naïve faith in the human morality of his Church and government. It is all about his dark, hidden world.
Because Marc and I come from very similar upbringings, and my having known him for the 29 year time frame in which this book takes place, he asked and authorized me to share this short synopsis.
We were both raised in the LDS (Mormon) Church where we were indoctrinated into this religion from birth. We both served two-year, proselytizing missions for the Mormon Church in our late teens. Marc served his two years in Sweden while I labored in the Ontario, Canada mission. Because we received the same tutoring within the Church we shared the same beliefs, but not the same level of conviction. After serving our respective missions, our individual relationships to the Church went very different directions. While I eventually fell away from the church, Marc pursued it with an intense reverence and passion, seeking to do the will of the Lord (as taught to him) in everything he did.
Typically Mormon missionaries are called to serve the Church for two years after high school graduation or disrupting their college education. While serving as a missionary you are totally immersed in the culture, language and customs of the country where you serve. If a seasoned Mormon missionary is not wearing their customary white shirt, tie and dark conservative suit they can virtually disappear into the community unnoticed. Through the teachings and personal adherence to the Church’s religious doctrine, Mormon’s are a self proclaimed “peculiar people.” They do not use tobacco in any form, drink alcohol or use any form of conscious altering substances; they are morally chaste, and in general have a very conservative persona about them. For these reasons Mormons are generally considered to have no vice and because those beliefs are taught repetitively to them from a very young age they have little to no temptation to indulge in any such offerings.
Before proceeding it’s important for the reader to understand some high level and secretive Mormon gospel doctrine:
First is the belief that it is better for an individual to “perish” than to lead others into disbelief. This doctrine is known as “Blood Atonement.” The Mormon Church has held to the belief that any action taken by someone seeking to thwart the divinely inspired purpose of the Church would be better off “cut off from the living” than succeed with their objectives. The early history of the church is dotted with stories of individuals who the Church “lovingly and with concern for their eternal well being” helped move on from this life thwarting them from doing something that would condemn them to the lowest of God’s kingdoms for the eternities. In other words, it is a license to kill in certain circumstances.
This belief is deeply rooted within the Church starting with the story from the opening pages of the Book of Mormon where the Prophet Nephi is commanded by the Lord to slay a wicked ruler named Laban because of his unwillingness to provide important gospel records (the plates of brass) needed by the Church of that day.
In the more politically correct, modern day application of this principle, the Church (not living in the “Wild West” anymore) mostly limits its actions to excommunication, public disgracing and other forms of retribution. However, from Marc’s story we have more than reason to believe that “removal from the living” is still within the realm of possibility when dealing with certain factions of the Mormon Church.
Quoting the sermons of Brigham Young (the second Prophet and President of the Mormon Church,) It is true that the blood of the Son of God was shed for sins through the fall and those committed by men, yet men can commit sins which it can never remit.... There are sins that can be atoned for by an offering upon an altar, as in ancient days; and there are sins that the blood of a lamb, or a calf, or of turtle dove, cannot remit, but they must be atoned for by the blood of the man." The doctrine is known as “blood atonement” and is generally not taught openly in the modern church although it is still canonized in Mormon doctrine.
Next, is the Mormon belief that the origins of the United States and its Constitution are a product of the divine providence of God. Therefore, it is the perfect place and political system where the true Gospel teachings could be restored and taught to the earth through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS or Mormon Church.) Because of this belief, members of the Church deem that it is their righteous duty to uphold the Constitution and support the leadership of the United States as they guide the Nation.
Finally, there is the doctrine of having your “calling and election made sure” or an ordinance of the Church known as the “Second Anointing.” It is believed that this is an endowment or a gift of "the power from on high" and assures the recipient that they are anointed as a "priest and king" or a "priestess and queen" for the eternity after death. Once the believer has received this gift, they are sealed (eternally tied) to the highest degree of salvation available in Mormon theology, regardless of transgressions committed in this life. Obviously a member of the Mormon Church would have to have a very strong moral compass and commitment to Church principles before being selected for this sacred ordinance. Otherwise there would be a lot of scary people running around believing that they could commit any iniquity they wanted and God would forgive them and, at their death God would admit them to his heaven.
A couple of additional points to consider before we move forward with Marc’s story is the nature of Mormons and in particular their missionaries. Mormons are brought up believing not to question “righteous leadership” and accept their teachings as a matter of “faith in the Lord and his servants.” A good Mormon will not question but accept through faith the religion and its teachings, even when it doesn’t seem quite right. Marc Garrison accepted all the Church’s dogma. Marc Garrison was considered a very good Mormon.
For some organizations in the world, the combination of these attributes, beliefs and religious rituals (LDS ordinances) creates fertile ground when seeking the human resources to carry out their bidding. Having all of these beliefs, being a soon-to-be recipient of the religious ritual of the “second anointing” and possessing a very strong intellect, Marc was one of those ideal candidates. He was, by all appearances, the ideal Mormon Father, community leader, and businessman who slipped into the underworld of the NSA and the CIA guided by his own Mormon spiritual leader, “Peter.”
At 13 years old Marc started down the path of Cryptology under Peter’s tutelage. By the time Marc was 16.(after two cracking crypts Marc was ready and very willing to start cooking them!!!) Marc absolutely loved his chance. He loved the “gestalt” of cooking Crypts.
During that time the entire concept of a client’s customization requirements fascinated Marc…
Marc’s world of religion and dark clandestine operations were interwoven into a matrix of emotional and spiritual justification to do the bidding of God - for God and Country. This encompassed the dark unthinkable for most of us, but was exploited, supported and encouraged by Marc’s most trusted spiritual Mormon guide, Peter.
The following is a brief synopsis of the true life story of Marc Stephan Garrison:
How do you build the ideal clandestine operative? You don’t need to look much further than the Taliban, who as an organization seek intelligent young individuals that possess the skills to fit into the society of their enemy. They must have the belief that the work that they undertake is God’s desire and they have a promise that they will be richly rewarded in Heaven for their efforts. This plan is pure, immutable genius and could be a page taken from the Mormon Church’s playbook, or the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) or the National Security Agency (NSA) for that matter. These agencies act and recruit just like the Taliban does.
The plain and simple fact is the ranks of the Mormon missionaries are one of the very best sources when seeking individuals that “fit the profile.”
In Marc’s case the shadowy ‘they’ didn’t even wait for him to become a missionary before placing him in their grip. Even though Marc was a very diligent missionary, caring deeply for the people of Sweden and having a strong desire to share his religious message with them, from the perspective of his employers he was more directly there for additional training as he learned how to fit into Swedish society.
Peter was NSA, CIA, and “Danite” all wrapped into a formidable covert phantom for his government and Church… he was also one of Marc’s spiritual leaders within the Mormon organization. Danites are a secret group within the Mormon Church, nearly dating back to the Church’s organization. This organization goes about the secretive behests and enforcements of it's Parent organization. Marc was just a 13 year old child when Peter began to set the hook deep into his soul. There was no immediate pain – but, eventually Peter would scratch that soul from Marc’s nearly destroyed body.
Aside from Marc’s strong conviction and faith in the Church, what attracted Peter most was his strong intellect. At the time of their initial meeting, Marc was already studying college-level mathematics and Peter immediately identified the opportunity to exploit Marc as a Cryptologist. At that time Marc was a very naïve and pliant, having faith that his Country and Church were the “do-gooders” of the World. When Peter asked, Marc complied without question, believing in his “righteous leadership.” Marc embarked in the journey of doing the Lord’s business.
While other kids went to their school and church socials, as many Mormon teenagers do, getting to know one another in ways unique to teenagers, Marc sat alone most every night at places like the Hotel Roberts “Cracking crypts.” By the time Marc was 16 Marc was cooking his own Crypts.
Cryptology is the process of decoding information that has been encoded for secrecy purposes, using a precise algorithm. Where it is the work of the Cryptologist to either decode the message without the prior knowledge of the algorithm used (cracking the Crypt) or to create an algorithm that other Cryptologists cannot decode (cooking a crypt.) When Peter didn’t have a Crypt for Marc to crack he had Marc spend his time “cooking Crypts,” which he got very good at, enjoying the ability to stump his master, Peter.
Marc served as a part-time Cryptologist until he received his final training from the CIA at their Langley facility in McClean, Virginia. And, maybe even more important than it all there was his two years of training and, service as a Mormon missionary in Sweden. As a missionary, Marc learned the illusion of being a Swede. In 1983 Marc received the second anointing of having his calling and election made sure.
Marc left the mission field, but never really left Sweden for any sustained length of time as he entered the dark world of industrial espionage working for “The Solutions Group,” which is a covert CIA / Mormon Danite Faction storefront. What other's don't understand about Marc but a fact that I fully do. Marc just can't sit still and just play. When Marc joined the ranks of our CIA he kept his foot in the door at the NSA. Marc from 1983 to April 21st of 2007 he kept up his work as a part-time Crypt.
All of this took place years before I met him and I began a very lucrative career as his business associate in 1988, without any inkling of Marc’s other life. Throughout all the time I spent with Marc, helping him develop his innovative real estate investment models, he was (among other things) working part-time stealing jet engine technology from SAAB’s Aerospace division and their logarithmic keys to unlock for American Industries so that they could liten in to every one of their sensitive communications.
All that this did was to help the Mormon Church to spread its tentacles throughout the entire World. Outside of the occasional vague, overheard cell phone conversation and, noting all the traveling he was doing in his off time without his wife and, his children, I had no realization that Marc had a separate, secretive life but I did feel apprehension in the pit of my stomach, distantly aware something was not right.
For years Marc and I enjoyed a very profitable business alliance where Marc used his considerable mathematical skills to build econometric models used in predicting real estate market cycles around the country. I would in turn use that information for our private real estate investments as well as the investments of his “students,” allowing changing market conditions to amass wealth for all of us. The plan was brilliant and entrepreneurial investors lined up to pay thousands of dollars to go with Marc and I, to visit recovering markets identified by Marc, where I would serve as their “buyer’s broker” earning tens of thousands of dollars every week spent working with Marc’s investor following. It all changed one summer day in 1998.
Marc was leaving his home in Phoenix to travel to Sweden which was not at all unusual, it was hot in Phoenix and he and his wife had a beautiful second home on an island out in the Baltic Sea near Stockholm, Sweden where the weather was refreshingly cool. Marc and I had agreed from the outset we would not work during the summer months allowing us time off to spend with our families and pursue other interests and hobbies. Anyway, I always thought that’s why Marc kept a separate home so far away from his primary residence in Arizona, never realizing it was all part of the “fit-in plan.”
As it was customary, I flew to Arizona a few days prior to his departure for Sweden so we could discuss some business strategy and items that we needed to accomplish during our “off time” that summer. The plan was Marc would leave for Sweden and his wife and kids would join him in a couple of weeks.
He seemed anxious about something our last afternoon together. Again, nothing out of the unusual except for a couple details, one of which was quite alarming First, he had a strange request; he asked if I could purchase a first-class ticket for his travels on my credit card. No problem, we charged the ticket and Marc gave me a cash reimbursement on the spot. We decided to continue our conversation while driving somewhere to allow him to take care of his other urgent business. That business was to pick up a specialized hand gun to take with him to Sweden. When Marc bought the gun he asked for a Glock 17 with 9 mm hollow point bullets like he was ordering an ice cream cone at Baskin Robbins. The ticket transaction didn’t seem all that strange but my head got stuck on… “why the gun?”
Two days after Marc’s departure I got a late night, collect call from Stockholm, Sweden. It was Marc and, he was in jail! All I could think to say was “what the hell Marc? This had better not be a joke!” It wasn’t, he explained that Sweden’s Security Police (SAPO) had detained him and, was in the process of interrogating him. ‘Interrogating him!?’ Who the hell was the SAPO? I later had to Yahoo to query what SAPO was, finding out that they are the Swedish equivalent of the CIA.
During our call Marc offered no further explanation but left off by asking me to check certain e-mail accounts and recount verbatim the “gibberish” portions of the messages, and not read out loud any of the understandable text because our conversations were being recorded. He told me that he was allowed one weekly phone call, that call would come to me collect and late at night because he was only allowed access to the telephone in the morning or early afternoon, “whenever they get around to it,” he added in a frustrated tone. The next week he called with two e-mail accounts for me to check. These were not the normal .com or .net accounts I was used to but one looked like some type of MAC code with an .int extension and the other with a more normal prefix and a .se extension. He also provided me with a somewhat cryptic message on how to figure out the password they shared. I’m sure that message would have been simple for Marc to figure out but it took me the better part of the next day to get into those e-mail accounts. When I finally did I wished I hadn’t.
The readable messages seemed to question his reasoning and contained vague threats such as reminders that his oldest son was also in Sweden, serving his mission for the Church and was “very touchable.” Some of the messages appeared to be in Swedish and the gibberish portions look like they came from Mars. This went on for several weeks until one day when I was logging-on, something quite unexpected happened. A message popped up on my computer’s screen asking who I was and, what was my connection to Marc, telling me I had better not try to access those e-mail accounts any longer and, stating that they had traced my computer access to a location somewhere in Holladay, Utah and, if I persisted it wouldn’t take long before “we will be knocking at your door.” I showed the message to my wife Patti who looked at it for a moment, then looked me directly in the eyes and said “no more email for Marc!” I thought, ‘seems like good advice’ and, Marc and, I lost contact for several years with the exclusion of a couple of brief messages conveyed between us by his Swedish Attorney.
When I first met Marc, he was a mountain of a man standing six foot three with a very commanding presence. If there was ever going to be a John Wayne of real estate economists, Marc would’ve been that guy. However, with his studious look and always wearing glasses, Marc seemed more the kind of guy that you would expect to find a calculator in his pocket rather than of a gun. Apparently he was the kind of guy who would carry both.
The next time I saw Marc was in the spring of 2012. If you would’ve told me the man in front of me was Marc Stephen Garrison I would have denied it until he left my front doorstep. This individual claiming to be Marc Garrison was about 5’2, looked like he weighed about 130 pounds and, was bent over and, very frail looking. If Marc hadn’t started in on the “remember when…” stories our reunion would have ended abruptly with the door closing in his face. I invited him in. “Marc, what happened to you?” I quietly asked. He just looked at the floor of my front room and, said “I’ve been dancing my own “DeathWaltz.”
Confused and dazed I inquired “what does that mean?” “Well…” speaking softly, “I guess you should know that I was working for the NSA, the CIA and, the Danite organization of our Mormon Church since 1969.” I didn’t even know what a Danite organization was but based on the tone of Marc’s voice I could tell it was something he was not proud of (I later googled Danite.) “Prior to that day in 1998 when I was arrested in Sweden I had begun to question my beliefs, not about the Church, which I believed with all my heart to be true, but more along the lines of how they and the Government used me. What really pisses me off is the basis of their maniacal use of my beliefs.”
Marc seemed to need to share his story; for the next three hours, in bits and pieces shared some of the details of his hidden life. What he told me was nothing short of astonishing. I could tell from Marc’s demeanor that this was more than difficult for him. That afternoon we talked about many things, disturbing things, and how he desperately needed to reclaim his soul.
He explained the events leading up to his CIA induction, interwoven with horrific stories of the assassination of his partner Sheila who was a returned missionary who had served her LDS Mission in Finland. In addition Marc told me that his partner was also a a Solutions Group operative like he was. As he talked about Sheila and their relationship I could tell he had deeply loved her as a woman far more than just as a working partner. I knew that Marc still mourned her death.
He then went on to explain how he questioned the validity of his eternal “get out of jail (hell) free card” the process of having your “calling and election made sure” or “second sealing.” Apparently this ordinance, is not only offered but mandatory for all those “entering the service,” freeing them to do whatever is needed and, still being assured a place in the highest degree of God’s Heaven. Marc stated that without that assurance everybody in the Solutions Group was destined to live for the eternities in God’s lowest Kingdom because of the evil things that their job required them to do. Without having their callings and elections made sure in the Salt Lake City Mormon Temple they would be kept away from all they loved after they died for all eternity..
I remember thinking how horrifically ironic that the very Mormon organization charged with the responsibility of helping him make it to Heaven had created a condition of ‘hell on earth for him’, leaving him questioning his eternal well being based on all he had done for them. These expressions of doubt were intermingled with stories of those he had killed in the name of God and Country and, those who had tried and were still seeking to kill him.
He went on to explain that those who sought to leave these organizations while trying to repair the damage they have done begin their ”DeathWaltz.” “DeathWaltz” is the dance of death. The term is apparently an internal jargon foretelling the lack of future of those leaving the cause. Marc stated, “Mike, all I wanted to do is set things straight with the Swedish people who I’ve come to love and, desired to serve and, instead I stole some portion of their future prosperity and, national pride and, that is why I went to jail.”
As the discussion went on in the same fragmented, disconnected way it became clear Marc had manipulated and damaged many lives in many countries. “The crash test dummy you see when you look at me now (self referencing his physical condition) is a result of my profound need to unwind the damage and get things straight with the Lord and stop the efforts of those who want to stop me.”
I found myself so enthralled I practically begged Marc to journal his story and share it with everyone who would listen. He explained that since his year in prison that that had exactly been his plan. He said that even though personal journals were discouraged in his line of business he had meticuously kept such since day one. In addition he told me that during each major conversation that he had regarding his Crypting and, his clandestine line of work he had always worn a wire, even when he had received his “second annointing.” He also told me that it was difficult for him because his mind was suppressing much of his story, protecting him from the painful reality. Writing is also a bit of a challenge for Marc in that one of the injuries he sustained during an assassination attempt has left his right hand nearly paralyzed, only his index finger is somewhat useful. For him, writing his story is a process of two finger, hunt and peck, slowly working through his shattered memories. I remember when his fingers were a mere blur as he typed out e-mail messages to those in his life.
Marc told me that the first thing that he had done when he got home from his Swedish Prison was to divorce his Temple Marriage wife. Without Marc telling me I knew exactly why. The second thing that he did was to take of his 6 children. Then the third thing was to start writing this book “DeathWaltz.”
From our conversations it was also clear that Marc had employed the services of a psychologist to help him filter through the trauma and, regain his mental strength. He continues to undergo many medical procedures in an attempt to regain his physical strength. One thing in Marc’s World that does not require fixing is his determination and, constant drive to never ever ever ever give up.
“DeathWaltz” is the autobiography of Marc Stephan Garrison, written by Marc for Marc, his 6 children and, the World with the express intent of liberating and, sharing the story of the unholy marriage of the NSA, the CIA and, the Mormon Church which marriage started in 1948. For the rest of us it will be a great read, full of suspense, drama and information on the inner workings of the NSA, the CIA and the Mormon Church’s Danite faction. I personally look forward to learning more about the disturbing use and exploitation of those who believe, simply because they do believe. I also want to know more about Marc’s tormented story of personal conflict, where he found the strength to rethink his life, and his weighty sense of humanity as he sets out to make things right.
As he tirelessly labors on this project Marc has mentioned several times over the past Months of how it is his deepest aspiration to help return the Mormon Church and, the United States Government to the “do-gooder” status he believed in as a youth. But just in case that doesn’t work, Marc’s future business plans also include teaching their victims how to protect themselves from the Solution Group’s army of just under foreign language speaking return Mormon Missionary operatives who all have had their calling and elections made sure.
These individuals commit Industrial Espionage all around the World blackmailing and, bribing and, doing simply whatever it takes. But you need to know what Marc told me that this class of Mormon returned missionary will arrange anything to get what they want including murder. These men and women all believe that they are forgiven having had their calling and elections made sure...
I wish him well,
Michael Anderson

Chapter One
Marc - Late One Night
I stood frozen in shock. Blood splattered my face and, hands and, clothes. The body of my beloved “farfar” – my grandfather – lay lifeless on the floor, a gaping hole in his head where the bullet had entered just before he toppled from the chair he had been sitting on to the ground.
I was only 8 years old. It was exactly two weeks before I was to be Baptized a member in the Mormon Church. I always knew that I was an odd child, preferring to keep to myself and, pass my time reading, studying, drawing or writing, rather than playing in the park or the streets with the other children my age. Sometimes my parents worried about me.
My father would catch me reading a book while watching TV with the family. Incensed at my refusal to enjoy the family activity, he would scream at me to quit reading and watch the TV show. “But I am watching the TV show, Dad” I would plead. “Then what just happened?” his father would question.
I would then recite word for word the dialogue from the last several minutes of the TV show, the show that my father was convinced I had been ignoring, my nose poked in a book.
I had no idea that I was different from other kids. I couldn't understand my father’s refusal to believe that I was able to read a math textbook while watching television and, remember both word for word. I did know that the screaming fits I received from my father made my life hell.
But farfar made my life bearable. When I was little, I remember loving to climb up on his knee and, sit on his lap, enjoying the fragrant smell of farfar's pipe while he read to me, or described some mathematical or scientific problem he was working on.
Farfar had come to live with us when I just a toddler. My Grandmother had died, and he was getting on in years, and he couldn’t live on his own anymore.
My time with farfar was always a bright spot in my day.
Until that night.
I had been sleeping in my bed downstairs and, had awoken suddenly, startled by a dream, or a noise – something – something I never did remember, although I later suspected it was some surreal premonition of something about to happen.
I had tossed fitfully in my bed, trying to go back to sleep, but I was wide awake and could not shake the restless, unsettled feeling I had felt the moment I had awoken.
Hearing the creak of farfar's chair in his study which was above my bedroom, I had decided I would go visit farfar. Snuggling on farfar's lap would soon put me back to sleep.
I padded silently up the stairs, and slipped into farfar's study. I could see the back of farfar's head, his body turned toward the desk that sat in front of the window in the tiny room. I opened my mouth to call out to farfar just as the gunshot sounded and, farfar tumbled out of the chair and onto the floor, the gun falling from his hands.
Chapter Two
Marc the Secret
Farfars death had turned my World upside down. Just moments after I entered the study and witnessed one of the most horrible scenes anybody could ever experience, I stood there. I was frozen in time. I was covered with the waste from farfar's suicide and, I was the only one home. I just stood there. I remember fafar's blood dripping from my forehead into my eyes then down into my mouth tasting like salt.
Soon, I could hear my Parent's come home from shopping. I heard my Mother call out to me but, I couldn't even whisper a response. I heard her putting the can's of food into the shelves. I heard my Dad turn on his TV. I heard our fridge open and, close. Then I heard her walking, humming, to farfar's room to surprise us with a treat she had got for us at the store.
Then, I heard my Mother scream...
The rest of that night for me is a blur. I know that my Father rushed into the room. I know that my Mother mother hurried me into the kitchen and cleaned me up.
All the rest of that day is vague, almost like in a fog. I think that my Mother told me sternly that I must never tell anyone of what I had just seen. I know that in those days, suicide was the ultimate shame. I do though remember her saying to me word for words that this was a family secret that I must never reveal. She said that I had to promise her that I would never speak an inch of this to anyone. In addition she asked me to promise her that I would never lie about anything but would rather avoid and, that I would always keep the commandments of God. I promised her in sobs that I would.
Since that day's Hell I have screamed myself to sleep night after night as I watched my mind's video of that self destructive night. Self destructive not only for farfar but, also for myself at the age of eight.
I was accustomed to keeping myself apart from others, to avoid their criticism of my oddities and, I was good at keeping secrets. I vowed to my Mother and myself that no one would ever know how my farfar had died.
I have never once broken that vow. That is until now.
But I stilled missed farfar terribly and, I seethed silently inside when some of the relatives who came to the funeral whispered awful things about my farfar when they thought no one else was listening.
I was accustomed to an ordered life. My family belonged to the Mormon Church, often seen by others as a peculiar organization. The Church had a strict code of health (no alcohol, tobacco, tea or coffee) and, a strict moral code that many had difficulty understanding, and that was a challenge to live (no sex before marriage and, strict fidelity after; put service to others ahead of one’s own desires). But it promised a life of eternal bliss in God’s presence for those who observed its tenets, and I wanted desperately to believe that such a thing was possible.
I had been diagnosed with bipolar disease when I was just just 8 years old. In those days, it was called manic depressive disorder, or some such. Goodness knows that psychiatrists were always coming up with new terms, new explanations for old problems. I was put on Lithium and, for the most part, was able to function normally, as least outwardly, but my mind was always going a hundred miles an hour all day long and, often even all night.
It was not unusual for me to get by on 3 or 4 hours of sleep a night for weeks on end, devouring text books and, novels like some kids devour comic books or candy. All done when I should have been sleeping.
Even though my existence was ordered by a strict set of behavioral rules, it was a lonely life. Someone with as many quirks as I had found it virtually impossible to make friends. Children my own age were boring to talk with, and I was pretty blunt about letting them know it. I would rather discuss math concepts with my teachers, or study the latest scientific discoveries in Popular Science, or dream about building a project I found in Popular Mechanics.
I had another quirk that no one knew about, not even my mother, who knew me better than anyone else alive knew me, nor even my beloved farfar. I had a list. No, not a list: The List. I had had started it the day that I was Baptised
Eight was a special age in the Mormon church. It was the “age of accountability” – the age at which one became responsible for his own sins, considered old enough to know right from wrong and, old enough to be Baptized as a full member of the Church. Because so much emphasis was put on the command to “repent and be Baptized”, I felt that I needed to celebrate my eighth birthday by starting my list. I didn’t give the list a name, except that when I thought about it, I saw it in my mind as two capitalized words: “The List”. Not “My List”, just “The List”.
I wrote The List out carefully on a small slip of paper that I carried secretly with me wherever I went. The List for me was everything that mattered in life, everything he wanted out of life. At eight, it had only a few items on it:
A Motorcycle
Serve a Mission
Friends
Live with God and, my family in Heaven
To serve a Mission was a dream I had had since I could read and write, which for me was about 3 years old or, so my Mother always said. I frequently heard stories at Church about those who devoted two years of their life at nineteen or twenty years old to obey the command to “go ye into all the World, and preach the Gospel to every tongue and people.” Not only was it a commandment in the Mormon Church for every young man to serve a full-time two year Mission, but to my young mind, it was a prerequisite to happiness both here and in the hereafter.
To the World, sending young men barely out of their teens to teach the Gospel seemed ludicrous. Yet the Church had been started by just such a young man, named Joseph Smith, who claimed to have been visited by God and Jesus Christ when he was just 14, in answer to a heartfelt prayer to know which of all the Churches was true. He said he had been instructed by them that although many adherents approached God with their lips, their hearts were often far from God, and the fullness of the gospel and the Church organization Christ had started while on the earth had been taken from the earth due to the general wicked state of the world, but would be restored in its full glory through the instrumentality of this boy prophet.
In fact, Joseph Smith was only 25 years old when he officially organized the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on April 6, 1830, that day having been revealed to be the true anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ. Even the name of the Church was given to Smith by revelation, or so he claimed.
For me Joseph Smith was not only the boy Prophet who ushered in the “dispensation of the fullness of times”, he was a personal hero. And, so serving a Mission was on The List. It had actually been the first thing that I had put on The List.
By the time I was 12, The List had grown to include a few more things. I had become more aware of the World, and the harsh realities of life, and questions, sometimes even doubts, about my parents’ religion had crept into my mind. By the time I was 12 , The List read as follows:
A Motorcycle
Car when I turn 16
University study
Honorably serve a mission at 19
Pilots license
My own airplane – a Twin Engine Turbocharged Pressurized plane with hot boots to solve icing issues
Having my Mother not have to work
Foreign languages mastered
Harley Davidson Road Bikes
Friends
A testimony of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ (the Mormon Church.)
The List was one reason I had no friends. No one my age would have understood The List and, I lived for The List. I never breathed a word about the existence of The List to anyone. Somehow I knew that The List set me apart from everyone else my age and, that to speak of it to anyone would be to invite ridicule and derision.
Chapter Three
Peter
The Visitor
Not much older than myself, Peter too had grown up in a Mormon family, and yearned to serve a mission for our church. His childhood was in stark contrast to mine. He made friends easily, and enjoyed life immensely. Like myself, he looked forward to serving a mission, believing it to be a step toward eternal exaltation in God’s heavenly kingdom.
A month before he turned 19, Peter received his “call”. A formal letter came from the office of the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints calling Peter to serve a two year full time proselyting mission in the Paris, France mission.
He had spent two months in Provo, Utah, at the church’s Language Training Mission, where he learned the rudiments of the French language and memorized six prepared lessons, called Discussions which were used to teach those interested in learning more about the church, called “investigators”, about God’s appearance to Joseph Smith in 1820, and the basic principles of the gospel as taught by the Mormon church.
He then traveled to France where he served faithfully for two years, usually spending long hours each week walking door to door with his companion, trying to share the good news that Christ had restored his Church to the Earth. Those who listened were told of Joseph Smith being led by an Angel to a set of gold plates, buried in the earth, on which was recorded the history of God’s dealings with those who had settled the American Hemisphere – the “Bible” of the new World, as it were. Compiled from the writings of many Prophets called by God throughout the history of the new World by a young Prophet named Mormon, the book bore his name, and was the source of the nickname given to the Church.
Of those who listened, not all accepted the invitation to read the Book of Mormon and pray for a Heavenly witness of its truthfulness as a book of Holy Scripture, but those who did almost invariably became deeply committed members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, sharing Peter’s conviction that the boy Prophet Joseph Smith was indeed called of God to restore the fullness of Christ’s Church to the earth.
It was shortly after he returned home to his family in Utah that the surprise came for Peter. A stranger slipped into the booth at the diner where he was enjoying a solo meal and asked if Peter had a few minutes. Although unknown to Peter, he looked vaguely familiar. Perhaps it was the short haircut, the clean-cut clothes, the confident bearing. Clearly, another Mormon, most likely an “RM”, a returned missionary, who like Peter had served his Church for two years.
The stranger told Peter a strange story. He spoke of how during World War II, the underground resistance movement in Europe fighting Hitler’s evil regime was bolstered by a cadre of Mormon returned missionaries. These clean cut young men and women, were almost always Americans in those days, had been recruited by various US government intelligence agencies to assist in the effort to defeat Nazism. They made perfect spies. They were trained in the United States, then inserted into the European country in which they had recently spent two years. They were committed to lofty ideals, to the idea of good triumphing over evil.
They knew people in many of the towns – the converts that had joined the church under their tutelage, or the faithful Church members who had toiled alongside them to share the gospel with their neighbors. They knew the language well. Those chosen to serve in this capacity spoke the language of their adopted country fluently, so that even native speakers had no idea they were Americans, either believing them to be natives also, or supposing their accent was that of someone from a neighboring country.
They had no need of hotels, for they could stay with Church members in every town they needed to go to. They didn’t need to rent cars, for they were given rides or lent means of transportation by the members of the Church. They didn’t smoke, they didn’t drink, they didn’t gamble, and there was no chasing women.
In short, they had no vices that could trip them up or be used as a lever against them were they discovered by the other side and, in fact, they were invisible to the enemy intelligence agencies because they fit in so well with the local populace.
In fact, they were so invisible to the enemy that not a single one of them was ever caught. Every mission they were sent on was carried out successfully. They were said to be “scuba divers” because they were so out of sight from the enemy’s intelligence machine.
Peter’s visitor told him that these Mormon scuba divers had first been recruited by Colonel Eddie Rickenbacker, a World War I Air Force ace who had been secretly put in charge of counterespionage in the European theater following the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Peter’s visitor related that following World War II, the United States government realized that the lack of communication between the 11 government intelligence agencies was a key element of the failure to detect and prevent the attack on Pearl Harbor.
Thus was born the Central Intelligence Agency. As a representative of the CIA, Colonel Rickenbacker was dispatched to Salt Lake City to meet with the First Presidency of the Mormon Church, the triumvirate that headed the Church, to propose a deal. If the Church would allow the CIA access to the best and brightest of their return missionaries, to be recruited to join the CIA and go “scuba diving” on behalf of the US government and in defense of freedom and democracy around the world, the Church would be given preferential access to the Countries emerging from the aftermath of the war for which the United States had assumed responsibility.
It was a tempting prospect. The Church was eager to fulfill its responsibility to preach the gospel to “every tongue and people” and many of the eastern European countries being helped by the United States had previously denied entrance to Christian missionaries of any kind.
Rickenbacker promised to grease the skids for the church in those Countries, in return for the Church’s cooperation in letting them know of return missionaries who might be promising recruits for the CIA.
Chapter Four
Peter
The Danites - The Heart of the Legend
By the time Peter was approached and eventually recruited, the arrangement had existed successfully for more than 15 years. But it had grown into something more.
After serving with the CIA for several years, some of the clean cut young men chosen to serve their Country full time, after serving their Church full time as missionaries, began to realize how they might provide greater service to their Church.
They longed to see the Church continue to grow, to be able to enter Nations still closed to them. They knew how to collect information on a target, then use that information to elicit cooperation from that target.
Whether it was a threat of exposing a hidden vice, or a promise of longed-for rewards, these bright young men had become skilled at using the weapons of human intelligence assets to accomplish their hidden agendas.
Much of their work involved encrypting their communications so as to prevent others from understanding their messages if they were intercepted. In the intelligence community, this is called crypting or “cooking”. The battle to stay ahead of the enemy in the ability to hide one’s own messages and decipher decrypt or “cracking” the enemy’s intercepted messages, is constant and ongoing in the intelligence world, both in wartime and in times of peace. “Cooking a crypt” was the process of finding a new algorithm to encrypt communications that could not be interpreted by the enemy. “Cracking a crypt” is the process of deciphering a message encrypted by the enemy, by finding the algorithm used to encode it. Both skills were extremely valuable in the intelligence community. Few assets could successfully do both.
That same battle to infiltrate foreign targets, gather intelligence on their activities, and communicate that information in a secure manner had entered the World of commerce. Industrial espionage had become big business. Those who could obtain information on a competitor’s operations and. designs without detection were in high demand in the corporate world.
Many former intelligence agents who had served their country found they could put those same talents to work for private businesses for great personal reward.
But these bright young idealistic men scorned using their talents for personal gain. They viewed themselves as called of God to serve their Country and their Church. By expanding their scope from military to industrial intelligence activities, they could produce vast sums of money which could then be used to finance covert activities and to open the doors of nations for the preaching of the Gospel.
What had started out as a defensive intelligence effort, to protect their Nation and the lives of its citizens from foreign military threats had become a offensive effort to use those same skills to infiltrate foreign governments and gain influence over decisions of whether to allow missionaries into their Country, whether to allow the building of Temples and Chapels and, where and needed to use these skills to open up Nations to missionary work.
.
In entering this new realm, they told themselves they were just following the teachings of the Book of Mormon. In just what is the opening Chapter of the Book of Mormon a young Prophet named Nephi is commanded by God to brutally murder a man named Laban so that he might steal his Plates of Brass by strategem. After killing Laban young Nephi puts on Laban's clothing then, disguises his voice to sound like the voice of Laban.
Nephi then goes to Laban's treasury and, fools one of Laban's servants and, successfully steals Laban's Brass Plates. This one act makes Nephi one of this World's first recorded spies. This one act serves as a rationalization today for thousands of Mormon's to believe the “anything goes rule” as long as it is in the name of God. The Book of Mormon answers those that do not believe this by saying that “it is better that a man perish then a Nation dieth in unbelief.”
With the Book of Mormon in hand this group felt their new undertaking required a special name and, in researching Mormon history, they found one: the Danites.
The original Danites were a group of men fiercely loyal to Joseph Smith during the days of the persecution of the Mormons in Illinois. They were rumored to have sought revenge against those opposed to the church by secretly destroying property, burning houses, even murdering those actively seeking the downfall of the Church.
Their history was shrouded in secrecy and mystery. Some believed they were only a rumor and, had never really existed. Some believed they existed, but were acting on their own. Others proclaimed that they were doing the express bidding of the Prophet, Joseph Smith.
The “scuba divers” weren’t worried about historical truths – whether truth or rumor, the idea of a clandestine organization dedicated to fighting those who opposed the advancement of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ appealed to them, and internally they adopted the Danite name.
Externally, they needed a name for the organization that would sell industrial secrets and Crypting algorithms to the highest bidder, often for millions of dollars. The name they chose to be known by to their clients was “The Solutions Group.”
One of the Solutions Groups best clients was the National Security Administration – the NSA. The NSA was r
