Artwork for book cover

I'm self publishing a book of poetry (a play on steak and kidney pasties, and my Northern English heritage). I'm looking for an artist/illustrator to design the book cover.

I'm a fan of bold colours and designs and I'm looking for something quite eye catching. I have played around with a few ideas, but I'm not an artist or a visual person and so am willing to throw the door open to anyone to put forward something suitable.

I would prefer a design that relates to the title of the book or a representation of the themes of a number of the poems in the books (which run to various topics including a white crab, food, Northern English culture, London, drugs, tea, unrequited love and numerous geek topics like maths and computers).
