I have 10 max files that need to be exported asap
We need to export from MAX to OSG (OpenSceneGraph) format. To do this, a MAX plugin named osgExp is used. This plugin is "community maintained" so the documentation is a bit scattered about, but the plugin itself is actively maintained by a company called Worldviz.
This is the main site for the plugin documentation:
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/osgmaxexp/index.php?title=Main_Page
The latest version is 1.0.2 which can be downloaded here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/osgmaxexp/files/OpenSceneGraph%20Max%20Exporter/1.0.2/
These instructions are helpful:
http://docs.worldviz.com/vizard/exporting.htm
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/osgmaxexp/index.php?title=Documentation
Exporting animations requires the use of a "sequence helper" object for each animated group. See:
http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/osgmaxexp/index.php?title=Sequence_Helper
Once you have exported an object, it is helpful to test it in an osgViewer to see how it looks. osgViewer.exe is part of the osg package which can be downloaded from ARToolworks' server here:
http://www.artoolworks.com/dist/openscenegraph/3.0.1/
It would be helpful to have both .ive and .osg formats.
