Affiliate marketing help

I am looking at ways of monetizing my website. It is an educational website which provides language learning resources, primarily verb resources. I get about 8000 unique visitors and 40,000 page views a month. I am an seo myself and am confident I can double these figures once I have some time to spend on the seo.

I would like to drive this traffic to affiliate products. The traffic is from Google and highly targeted/relevant for the affiliate product I have in mind. I just need someone who is experienced in affiliate marketing to help me find the best way to convert the traffic that goes to my 'reference' pages.
