Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
My current resumes are actually very good. They have 2 basic formats -1 geared to my main work experience as a corporate tax professional for major organizations. The other, similar information is geared to present more of a financial department professional (leaving the word "tax" out of a lot of things) with broader abilities, especially in troubled companies.
Finally I have a 3rd – the most undeveloped and which is why I am here. It needs to be revised and be for a career (change) to academics. Professor or advanced/mature student type educator positions are my target. Although I also appreciate that may occur a step at a time. As I understand the true CV (rather than a standard or modified resume presentation) really is different, and if for nothing else than the uniqeness that it is for purpose it does this best. Clearly we would need to develop, define and present my teaching/mentoring/adjunct, as well as seminar speaking & co-ordination, and limited published (albeit lots of internal business writing) experiences much more. This is where I would rely on your direction and expertise the most. I am posting here because I believe in true considered writing ability is so much better than a perhaps standardization program basically organizing data to some expected convention.
My goal is to have a CV for academics that can be submitted for any or several business topics: finance, management, taxation especially (but geared away from pure accounting). It is my intent to focus on opportunities that start (or expect to lead) to doing so in Asia, particularly China. (Several US Universities are opening official satellite campuses there, delivering the same curriculum as the campus in the states, in English). I am not bi-lingual. As I am single and able to relocate easily, with this being entirely a life choice (even dream), and yet with no real financial requirements (from a successful career) may make me most attractive.
Concluding - I can return these several different resumes to the successful bidder, that in total show a 30 or so year broad base of professional and academic accomplishment. It is probably more information than any questionnaire format you may have (and I would prefer not re-presenting to a canned format). From these I would like to hear your proposal on what you would do and expect to require from me. The estimate can identify any charge to produce the document and even translating to (Mandarin or Traditional Chinese best, others considered). After acceptance of a final product (which I suspect will take a number of revisions), I will not require cover letters or any interview services, although any marketing abilities relevant to my situation would be happily considered.
Time of completion is NOT critical.
Sincerely,
Jeff Heller
