Database requirements
The client requires a fully functional web site. The website in addition to other marketing and advertising uses must have a database that will be able to perform the following functions;

Background
-I am dealing with approximately 500 customers selling my product by instalments
-I need to hold information on these customers (customer number may be a good identifier)
-Each of these customers may buy one or more of my plots of land
-The Plot buyer may want the plot title issued in a different name (probably a relatives etc) so provide this field.
-Upon payment of a deposit each customer is allocated a plot. A customer may buy one or many plots.
I need to hold a database that provides information on the relation [customer: plot numbers allocate; payments made to date]
-Additionally I need to hold information on payments made by the customer on an ongoing basis.
-At any one moment I should be able to query my database to find out how much customer has paid and on which on which dates.
-The database should be able to calculate based on preset prices how much is outstanding at any particular time
-Payment facilities need not be provided through the website.
Payment is done through banking into my account (company account) and then sending me the information regarding the payment. For this reason a customer needs to be able to update payments done towards their plots. For internal control, my casheir should be able to update payment received and send a pdf receipt to the customer. All that a customer needs to do is quote their identifier number.

Functionalities
1. The website can register a User
2. Upon registration user is provided with login details
A form that updates the database with the following details relating to a customer;
Compulsory fields
(i) Name, surname, email address, Address
(ii) DOB
(iii) nationality
(iv) upon registration my customer gets a customer number automatically generated and updated onto the database
(v) In future customer can login in to update payment made at any time following a successful login (payments table – perhaps). Payments will include; date; reference ;amount paid and [where possible the customer should use his customer number as well as name when making paying at bank]
The payments are not done on the website (We will discuss the possibility of having this with winning developer?)
(vi) Once payments are checked to ensure they are genuine then a facility (click of button that then updates the database accordingly
(vii) Important queries (whatever the database language) done on the database must be accessible through buttons e.g.

select customer x plots and payments to date,
select summary of all customer details etc

(viii) When the payment table is updated it remains our task to responsibility to cross check what customers are updating with your bank statement(reconciliation) on an ongoing basis – perhaps everyday and update the database with all approved transactions


Other requirements
1. A professionally built website that has the following additional facilities
The landing page must be professionally done and has links to other pages on the website. These other pages need not require logging in
2. Materials for the linked pages must be updatable in order to provide users with the most up to date information e.g on additional products We may be offering at any one time;
For this reasons
a. Prompt Housing will need administrative rights to this website so that they can edit all the content on the site.

4. Agents
The website should be able to handle agents who might want to sell the plots and earn a commission. There should be an introducer box selectable. This should identify the agents. Organisational purchases are permitted (Group purchases attract a discount).
