Xenios Thrasyvoulou
Founder & CEO
Born on labour day Xenios has been tasked by cosmic forces to disrupt the labour market. He started PeoplePerHour in mid 2007 manually micro-brokering small projects between business and freelancers using pen, paper and a phone (occasionally email too!).
Today, 700K+ lines of code later, the site serves over 1m people worldwide, and Xenios has gone from pen % paper to being on BBC News, Bloomberg, Wired, Forbes, the Financial Times, and many more, as a thought leader in the burgeoning freelance / on-demand economy.
When not working (which isn’t very often), he blogs , paints, visits Art galleries, cooks a messy meal (more often than not too close to burring his place down), plays sports or watches movies. He holds an MA & MEng from the University of Cambridge and did a short stint at Harvard Business School – enough to convince him never to do an MBA!
Simos Kitiris
Co-founder
I have been a part of the PeoplePerHour family from the beginning as CTO although in the early days that more or less meant sitting in a room with Xenios for hours, working our way through a huge ‘take over the world’ to-do list while trying to come up with solutions to a seemingly never-ending list of problems. 🙂
Fast forward a few years and that room was significantly bigger and we were tasked with filling it with talented team to help drive the company forward. I couldn’t be happier about what PeoplePerHour has achieved, helping so many freelancers and businesses across the world on a daily basis, and I am super proud of Xenios and the team who keep growing PeoplePerHour from strength to strength.
I love startups and technology and a couple of years ago inspired by my PeoplePerHour journey I decided to take on a new challenge and founded Yumbles, a marketplace connecting food lovers with independent food makers.
In my spare time I love hanging out with my family and friends and trying (somewhat extreme) sports most people have never even heard of. I (somehow) ended up holding an M.Eng. (first-class honours) from the University of Cambridge.
Spyros
CPO
I’m in charge of the company technology, building scalable and robust systems and infrastructure, whilst constantly on the lookout for great talent and time to do some actual coding. I have a special knack for new tech and large-scale engineering solutions. I prefer not to talk a lot and tries to avoid long meetings – and have optimised agile methodology to suit that need. I enjoy laughing loudly at my own amazing joke even if, in retrospect, I admit their poor quality. I have many hobbies, which have been mostly been abandoned after having two sons.
Tom Fotherby
Director of Engineering
Having been at PeoplePerHour since Nov/08 I remember the days where the technical landscape was quaint – where we didn’t use Amazon Web Services, or github, where adding rounded-corners to a button took a hour to do, where being a “full stack developer” was actually possible. Technology is changing fast, things are becoming easier and easier to build. It really is ever so exciting! I love being a part of it!
Spyros
Web Developer
I am best known as the guitarist of the heavy metal band Valor but in my spare time I work as a web developer in PeoplePerHour. Since 2011 I have witnessed, built, tested and destroyed most of the PeoplePerHour webpage. I am passionate about backend developing but I can stand frontend/UI coding (with the help of a couple of beers). I am also into sports, I can play Pro Evolution Soccer or watch football games all day long.
George
Senior Web Developer
I’m a Jedi knight with light-sabre mastery that uses the Force to build and maintain the payment systems for Peopleperhour since 2011.
Aris
Director of Engineering
Sincere, curious, friendly, ambitious software engineer who loves building user interfaces and delivers smooth experience to the end user. Simple things should be simple, complex things should be possible.
Stavros
Site Reliability Engineer
My main duties in PeoplePerHour is to participate in the Payments Development Team. My professional experience extends in almost whole lifecycle of Operations and Development process (Systems and Networks Administration, Automation & Backup Solutions, Cloud infrastructure Designs & Setups, Logging Systems, Security Auditing…) I am almost obsessed with Systems visibility and clarity, but among all clouds I’ve ever dealt with the most interesting and valuable is my little daughter Nefeli. She is my main inspiration and gives me reasons to be better in all aspects of life.
Stelios
Site Reliability Engineer
Hi I am Stelios! I like coding and using edge cutting technologies and that is one of the reasons I wanted to join the awesome team of PeoplePerHour. As a new member of the PeoplePerHour family, I enjoy everyday developing for such a large-scale project. Biking, gym and hanging out with friends are few of the things I enjoy doing besides coding.
Tasos
Design Lead
I am passionate about design, web standards and typography. I started my professional career as a graphic designer and my intuitive curiosity led me to learn HTML, CSS and JS in order to code my own designs. I am a fan of functionalism, brutalist architecture, krautrock and cheap beer.
Nikos
Web Developer
Frontend Developer, tech enthusiast, self-motivated and perfectionist.Proud to be a member of the PeoplePerHour team and involved in projects using cutting edge tech .Passionate about travelling, sports and movies!
Juste
Creative Marketing Manager
It takes me ages to find the words to describe myself but, hey-ho, every story has to start somewhere. A writer at heart, I joined the team at PeoplePerHour to find and shape their true voice through captivating content. Forget complex strategies, clever hacks, and guerilla marketing – in the noisy world that we live in today, the only truly effective way to be noticed and remembered is through storytelling, consistently A class content and a flaming mission. Driven by the philosophy that one changes the world by doing, I’m always up to something (usually, something good, like learning or shopping online). But then, I’m Lithuanian, so you never know. If we’re at a party, I’m the weirdo going through your bookshelf. And that says it all.
Aylish
PR Manager
I originally joined PeoplePerHour as a freelancer in 2010 and therefore know first hand just how important our platform is for self-employed people across the globe. Now, I manage the PR at PeoplePerHour and oversee our presence in both online and offline media. I get to tell people every day about the ways PeoplePerHour is changing the future of work and speak to our wonderful community about their inspiring freelance stories.
Kelly
Email Marketing
Known for unprecedented levels of ambition, drive and work ethic, I joined PeoplePerHour to take charge of email marketing efforts. I am in love with the science and maths behind marketing (although my parents would laugh at reading I have taken an interest in those subjects since I got older)! I have a passion for growing things (although I’m not very good at gardening – that’s a job for my husband), testing and experimenting. I like to help people, and show brands how they can stand out of the crowd and be memorable. Like many other members of the team, I am also a parent and have many hobbies (if by hobbies you mean changing nappies). I am what you would call a “girlie-girl” and therefore it is my duty to like make-up and keeping up with the Kardashians! I like to read, learn and explore the outdoors. I love comedy and a little TV show nobody has heard of called Game of Thrones.
Yannis
Product Manager
UX. Agile. XP. Prototype. UI. Scrum. DDD. KPI. User Stories. SQL. Roadmap. SEO. TTM. Kanban. In case they all sound Greek to you, don’t worry; they also did to me some years ago. And yet today, my vocabulary mainly consists of these buzzwords.
My mission at PeoplePerHour is to bridge the gap between Business and IT and lead the Engineering teams towards the implementation of the company’s strategy and vision.
A loyal follower of the ancient Chinese proverb: “Man with one chopstick go hungry”.
Periklis
VP of Engineering
Being a member of the PeoplePerHour tech team since 2011, I contributed in rebuilding the app from scratch and cleaning up the legacy mess. During this time I also mastered the skills of extracting/combining data from the database to produce (hopefully) meaningful reports and became a supporter of the DevOps movement. Currently I’m working side-by-side with our Data Scientist and Site Reliability Engineer engineers to implement complex algorithms using cutting-edge tools. I like things to be clean, consistent and efficient. I’m in favor of adopting new tools but detest hype and wasting time on solutions that do not fit my purpose. I enjoy working with others and often wonder why they put up with me. Must be my amazing sense of humour…
George
Data Scientist
Hi there! I work for PeoplePerHour at the BI/data sector, learning and getting in touch with lots of tech, getting to know great co-workers, enriching my knowledge with exciting new stuff! I’m always interested in spending time with tech and informatics and finding shelter in the good company of friends and family.
Dafni
Data Scientist
I have always sought to work on a combination of scripting and method implementation, which gradually led me to leave surveying and mingle with data. This is what brings me to PeoplePerHour where I hope to learn and contribute in all activities of the Data team. I enjoy walking downtown and cannot imagine spending a day without listening to at least a single song.
Shaan
BI Ninja
Hi! I’m a BI analyst working out of London, with a background in maths. I’m always looking for new methods to analyse and present data, and constantly trying to learn new techniques for this purpose.
In my spare time, you’ll most likely find me playing basketball, cooking or eating.
Penny
Product Manager
Hi! My name is Penny and I work as Product Manager at PeoplePerHour.
My mission is to help people live their work dream! Prior to PeoplePerHour, I worked in the Banking sector while earning my Master in Business Mathematics.
When I am not at PeoplePerHour HQ, you will most likely find me playing with my little baby boy.
Meletis
Operations Director

Dimitris
Operations Director
Coffee Master by day, Payments Ninja trainee by night. I am really excited to be part of this wonderful PeoplePerHour team. I love working to resolve any payment processing issue in a timely manner with a keen eye for details. My favourite quote? “To achieve great things, two things are needed: a plan and not quite enough time.” Leonard Bernstein.
Akis
Payments Ninja
After years in accounting I suddenly landed in payments and now I have the opportunity to learn more about fraud and grow my knowledge more about different aspects of economics and apply that knowledge on everyday growing business. I recently became a member of the PeoplePerHour team and I am excited that I am a part of a very happy and creative group of people.
Natalia
Interim Manager
My job title is Senior Advisor though I do not enjoy this description. I prefer the term of ‘People Per People’. First, because I came up with this name and, second of all, because I just enjoy helping people. Most of the times I find myself trying to put a smile on people’s faces making then forget their troubles and, if I do not manage to succeed, trying harder until you close your Inbox with a big smile on your face. I have an artistic virus running through my veins which gives me a creative and romantic point of view and makes me very emotional when I listen to Freddie Mercury
Pawan

Katerina
HR Director
After spending 10 years in corporate business settings, I decided to take a turn and immerse myself into a world full of wonders, the world of tech…that’s is how I landed on PeoplePerHour. My job is to take care of PeoplePerHour greatest asset: people. I believe in solutions and in human will. Here, there is plenty of both!
Konstantinos
Web Developer
A disciplined self-motivated web developer with strong team spirit and well-rounded experience in both backend and frontend development. I am efficient in problem-solving and able to teach myself but also learn from the tech gurus surrounding me here. I really enjoy being a part of PeoplePerHour team and I am glad that I can contribute to its success. In my free time, you can find me playing board games, reading history or listening to long-forgotten music.
Michael
Web Developer
Hi, I’m Michael! Yet another web engineer of the PeoplePerHour family! I am passionate about web and modern technologies, I really enjoy my work, and I always seek for new challenges and self-improvement. In non-office time, usually you can find me in my home studio jamming with my guitar, or in a pub drinking beers with friends.
Theo
Operations Director
I joined the PeoplePerHour family as Operations Director to help the CS & Payments teams answer the growing needs of our users and provide them with a 5 star customer service. Although I graduated in film studies, I never made anything out of it except some nerdy movies. On the other hand, I used my inspiration to find ways to delight customers and provide them with the best support experience possible during most of my professional career. I dedicate most of my free time to my two kids who are by far the most demanding customers I ever had to handle.
Marianela
HR Administrator Expert
Hey! I am Marialena, the new HR Expert. Apart from all my administrative tasks, my mission in PeoplePerHour is to make sure PeoplePerHour employee experience is “WOW”! Ask me anything; probably I won’t know the answer, but I will find out!
Last but not least, a couple of things that you should know about me:
I play volleyball – not that tall I know!!!
When I was little I was constantly saying I would marry Micheal Jackson – did not happen obviously!
I drink my coffee black and finishing it in the morning is mandatory before I can think!
Yiannis
Web Developer
Hi, I’m Yiannis the new member of the PeoplePerHour team and I’m really proud of it. I enjoy turning complex problems into simple, beautiful and sexy web apps. When I’m not coding, you’ll find me traveling with my motorcycle or riding on a motocross track.
Lilian
Web Developer
Seeking out new technologies and staying up-to-date has always been my passion. I am friendly and enjoy being a part of a team. My keen attention to detail and dedication to solving any problem at hand are what made me join People per Hour. Traveling and meeting new and exciting people has always been my thing.
Nikos
Web Developer
This is me. Crazy about the technical side of things, spend my time wanting more time to enjoy my music, and play gigs with my band but in reality, I spend my free time being a Dad, which basically means I have no free time at all. Enjoy working at trying to keep apace of the latest in technology. Character-wise I’m easygoing when not stressed, a sort of happy chappy with a love of life.
Haris
Product Manager
I consider myself as someone who bumped into technology by accident and fell in love with it – I am an “all things digital” enthusiast and amazed by the impact that the Internet has on people. After several years in software development, I decided that I had enough with code and started seeking comfort in managing projects and teams.
After office hours, I enjoy making (or trying to make) electronic music, reading books about life, the universe and everything, and being lazy (not necessarily in this order).
Christian
Director of Operations & Product
I come from the cold north but eventually realised that the warmth of Athens suited me better. Even though it might not look like it, I was working when the dot com bubble burst and experienced the highs and the lows. This taught me a lot and I soon realised that technology is an enabler, not the solution itself. I’m passionate about technology and the endless opportunities it creates. And the most exciting thing is that it’s only the beginning.
When I’m not playing around with gadgets I enjoy spending time with wife and friends, exploring the many nice spots of Athens and its surrounding areas. I’m heading up the product and operations team at PeoplePerHour at this very exciting time for the company!
Yannis
Delivery Manager
I used to work for many years as a software developer and I have developed many products for Windows, Web and mobile applications.
In this role, I will add this experience to make the PeoplePerHour products better.
I am married and I have a small daughter that consumes most of my personal time.
My hobbies are running, reading and programming for IoT.
I am an energetic person with a good sense of humor. I always try to learn new things and apply them to my business life.
My business quote is “We either win as a team, or we die as individuals” and my personal “I commit I won’t quit”
Kristal
Payments Agent
Coming from a background of troubleshooting software and hardware issues I am very much looking forward to be a part of the payments department to ensure that the PeoplePerHour site is a safe place that everybody can be confident to do business in!
My free time away from PeoplePerHour I love spending quality time and playing with my two boys!
Libby
Social Media Manager
I joined the PeoplePerHour platform a few years ago as a freelancer. In April 2018 I was introduced to the team at TalentDesk.io and as a content writer, and then to the PeoplePerHour marketing team where I now manage social media and blog content. This role perfectly aligns to my background in marketing, social media and content management in entrepreneurial and HR environments. I love being part of such a talented and inspirational team!
Sokratis
Web Developer
From as long as I remember I was always passionate for technology and functionality. I like to participate from the building of a logical flow to translating it into code. Apart from programming I like things that bring vibe and energy such as dancing and music with good company.
Kosmas
BI Analyst
Hi all, my name is Kosmas and I work as a BI Analyst for PeoplePerHour!

In my free time you will find me watching a movie, a show or a documentary. If not, I am probably abroad enjoy traveling :)”
Paul
VP of Product
I have a passion for digital products. I build websites, invent apps, create interfaces and solve problems through interaction design.
My strength lies in my hybrid of design
and development — I solve problems
with a developer’s mind and a designer’s eye.
I judge a good day by how much I’ve learned and I’m excited to continue this with the PeoplePerHour team.
Christos
Web Developer
Hi, I am Christos and since I remember myself, technology was my passion. I have been working as a software engineer, participating and contributing to many areas of a software product development process. But that’s not all about me, I am also a father of a little son and I am constantly trying to convince him not to follow his father’s steps! I like to see nice ideas to become successful products and that’s why I have joined the PeoplePerHour family, learn from the team and also contribute to the company’s success.
Michalis
Web Developer
As a front end developer, I like working with hot technologies. I am a team player and I am always looking for a good working environment where I will be surrounded by both talented and friendly people. I like traveling a lot and meeting new people.
Aspa
HR & Office Management
Long story short, my role in this team is to keep things in order and to find solutions.
However, never forget ” All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy”.
John
Web Developer
Hi, JC here. My addiction to code started at the age of 16 when I was trying to read books that I didn’t fully understand but for some reason, I kept on reading them. Ten years after still trying to find a balance between frontend and backend. Code should be as complex as the simplest solution. If you are not a part of the solution you are a part of the problem.
Kyriakos
Web Developer
Hey! I’m Kyriakos, a frontend web developer and a new member of the PeoplePerHour team.
Bug hunting intrigues me, solving problems excites me, and automating makes me happy =)
Besides coding, I love to take long walks in the city center, to read a good book, and going to DIY concerts.
Declan
Brand Manager
In a nutshell, my job is to make you love us. Thankfully, our product and development team make this a simple job…most of the time anyway. My day-to-day role involves working closely with the rest of our marketing team to introduce more businesses and freelancers around the world to the PeoplePerHour way of working.
When I’m not in the office, my passion lies in sports, and more specifically, Manchester United. And before you ask, no, I’m not from Manchester.
Martin
VP of Marketing
In charge of driving growth through Marketing, I’m passionate about the power brand and how it can manifest itself in a great customer experience and within product. Trained in ad-land but having most recently developed a temporary jobs platform, I’m very committed to debunking the archaic 9-to-5 model and familiar with what it takes to disrupt traditional conventions. I might sound very British but don’t let my accent fool you, I’m a Parisian at heart. You’ll find me playing tennis or visiting art galleries when not with my three young daughters, which is rare.
Panos
Customer Support Agent
I originate from the journalism and advertising sector, having vast experience in dealing with difficult situations between professionals. Honesty, comprehension, and patience are the key factors to any and all relationships.
Bringing those ideals from the physical markets to a virtual one is a challenge that I am more than happy to undertake.
Sofia
Customer Support Agent
I am glad to be part of PeoplePerHour and its community. As a creative spirit and sensitive artist, my purpose is to assist our users in the best possible way. On my free time, I enjoy reading a good book or traveling around the world. If you drop by our customer support page, I would be more than happy to assist you!
Viki
Customer Support Agent
I have been a Graphic Designer for my entire life both working for companies in NY and Greece and as a freelancer and therefore I know firsthand how important the platform is for self-employed people.
I feel that life is treating me great. I have been a member of the PeoplePerHour family for almost 17 months now and I must admit that I love this line of work. Being a born New Yorker I really appreciate the versatility and through PeoplePerHour I have been given the opportunity to provide customer support to people from all over the world. That feels good!
Most of all PeoplePerHour has given me the opportunity to be surrounded by amazing people!
Peggy
Customer Support Agent
Studying French literature for 5 years now has taught me how to handle myself in difficult situations, whether trying to pronounce the word “eau” or handling tickets.
Being persistent and, occasionally, stubborn, I try my best in order to overcome any obstacle that comes my way.
P.S: I’m still waiting for my letter from Hogwarts.
Margarita
Customer Support Agent
I started working as a customer support agent as soon as I graduated from high school along with my studies on Marketing. Very soon I realized how much I love helping people and providing the best solution possible to the issues they may face.
In my spare time, I love cooking and having friends over for long nights of eating, drinking and laughing. I’m a multicultural cuisine foodie but I couldn’t live without Italian pizza and pasta. Music plays a huge role in my daily routine too, as it sets my mood and helps me concentrate. On the end of a tiring day, an episode of my favorite series is what helps me calm down and sleep well before a new day starts…
Fortune
Customer Support Agent
I am glad to be a member of the PeoplePerHour community. I love mathematics and that is the reason why my studies were focused on them. I also enjoy dancing and listening to good music. Dedicated and focused, I am ready to assist our Users in any issue that they may encounter on the Platform.
Sakkis

There are new digital devices coming into our lives everyday, with the potential to make life easier and better. People Per Hour is part of that and it’s a platform I’m happy to be part of.
Eratosthenis
Digital Marketing Manager
It all started with Google Ads and then it went out of control. I am constantly trying to make a story out of numbers and move things forward. Self-motivated, persistent and early adopter of digital marketing techniques and tools. I accept challenge, embrace change and I thrive in teams when cooperating with talented people. All of these brought me to People Per Hour. And now it is time to enjoy the ride.
Arpit
Marketing Director
I run the marketing team in PeoplePerHour responsible for creating user love for our brand across buyers and sellers. I am particularly keen on showcasing our amazing community of freelancers to businesses looking to find great talent instantly. When I am not doing that (not often) I find myself running behind my 2 daughters and getting a “makeover” every other week by them!
Sotiris
Technical Lead
I’m in charge of bringing to life and building new products from the grounds up.
I love the challenges posed by the dynamic and demanding environment of start-up organizations. I enjoy building talented, healthy, and motivated engineering organizations and leading them into accomplishing remarkable things. Being imbued with the principles of agile practices and methodologies, I try to apply them to form a team culture based on the qualities of sense of urgency and ownership. Having a business background, I enjoy getting involved in business decision making and translating it into a tangible product.
As a Full-stack software engineer, I am passionate about every aspect of web technologies and systems engineering. I love getting my hands dirty coding in front-end or back-end, designing the architecture of new systems and finding solutions to complicated problems. Being a curious mind, I experiment with new technologies which I try to adopt in my tech stack. I am particularly attracted by microservice-based scalable, containerized systems, interconnected via messaging queues.

Owain
Head of SEO
I’m tasked with driving overall organic search growth on the PeoplePerHour site. With a background beginning with a degree in English language and literature, I spent 5 years living in China in a previous life where I used my copywriting and language skills to cut my teeth as a writer, editor and eventual digital marketer. This sparked my first foray in SEO and it’s been an exciting ride of technical audits, content campaigns and keeping up with Google ever since. After returning to the UK, I’ve worked with a wide array of brands in different industries on the agency and client side, most recently spearheading the EU SEO strategy for Samsung.
When not grappling with algorithm updates, I can be found working on my solo ambient music project (samples given upon request), running in my local park, seeing new places and enjoying walks in the great British countryside when possible.

My name is pronounced Des-pi-na . With my many years of experience in customer care and technical support and my eagerness to learn I hope to be an asset to the payments team. In my free time I like to soak up the sun and spend time with my friends and family.
