Overview We are looking for a Machine Learning Research Proposal Specialist to create a polished, professional research-style write-up for an ML evaluation task. The submission should propose a machine learning problem within the writer’s domain of expertise and must be directly related to machine learning. The final deliverable should be written in markdown format, follow the provided template exactly, and be no longer than 1–2 pages with a maximum of 8 paragraphs. Project Goal The goal of this project is to design a machine learning benchmark or problem that is complex enough to challenge a strong state-of-the-art LLM. The problem should not be a simple generic ML pipeline task. It should require deep domain expertise, advanced reasoning, and layered technical understanding that would be difficult for a general-purpose model to solve without specialized knowledge. Responsibilities The selected specialist will write a complete research proposal-style submission using the required sections: Domain and Motivation, Task Design, Data and Data Generation, Sources of Difficulty, Reference Solution and Scoring, and Citations. Each section should be concise, polished, and limited to one paragraph. The proposal should clearly explain the ML domain, why the task is meaningful, what is being predicted, how the data would be generated or adapted, why the task requires extrapolation, and why naive approaches would fail. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has strong experience in machine learning, applied AI, data science, or ML research, with expertise in at least one technical or scientific domain such as healthcare, finance, robotics, cybersecurity, biology, materials science, geospatial analysis, NLP, computer vision, or another complex field. They should be able to design a creative ML task that rewards real domain knowledge rather than basic textbook ML skills. Required Skills Strong understanding of machine learning problem formulation, benchmark design, data generation strategies, train/test split methodology, model evaluation, and scoring metrics is required. The candidate should also be comfortable explaining why a task is difficult, what domain-specific insights are needed, and how an expert would approach solving the problem. Clear technical writing and the ability to produce concise markdown-formatted documentation are essential. Deliverable The final deliverable will be a markdown-formatted research proposal following the provided template. It should be professional, concise, and no more than 8 paragraphs total. The proposal must involve machine learning directly and should include citations where applicable, such as relevant research papers, datasets, GitHub repositories, or other credible references that support the proposed task. Important Notes This is a machine learning evaluation project, so proposals that are not directly related to ML will not be accepted. The model output should be ignored during the evaluation process, and once the prompt has been entered and the model generates a response, the evaluator should select “Done Chatting.”

Book Marketer for Dystopian Sci-Fi Novel – Strategy + Execution
Hi, I’m Mikhail, I’m looking for a book marketer who can build and [IMPORTANT] execute a promotional strategy for my debut novel. I’m open to any approach that makes sense for the book. What I need is someone who understands the book’s positioning and can recommend the right channels, not just run one playbook. The book is ‘Android Against Moscow’, published on Amazon (Kindle, paperback, hardcover). It’s set in a near-future authoritarian Russia and follows an elderly theatre scholar and his domestic android as they steal classified evidence of state-sponsored historical falsification and try to escape the country. The genre is dystopian science fiction with political themes. Written by a Russian émigré living in Germany. What didn’t work: I previously ran an email outreach campaign that sent roughly 5500 emails to a broad list (poorly targeted?). The open rate was above 40%, but no purchases or reviews followed. Several contacts turned out to be genre mismatches – horror reviewers, psychological thriller bloggers – people who were never going to connect with this book. I don’t want to repeat that approach. What I already have: A published book. Some audiobook chapters. A prologue video on my YouTube channel. Graphics. What I need is someone who knows what to do with all this stuff. https://www.amazon.com/Android-Against-Moscow-T-Woods/dp/B0GYYZFBQ5 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rh45nAewfjU About the book’s audience: I’m not an expert, but this is probably not mainstream commercial fiction. AI says that the readers who’d love this book are people who read Zamyatin, Orwell, Huxley, Philip K. Dick, Kazuo Ishiguro’s ‘Never Let Me Go’. They care about surveillance, AI consciousness, authoritarianism, and what happens to individuals caught inside political machinery. The marketing needs to find those readers specifically, not cast a wide net and hope. One more thing: the androids are inspired by the game ‘Detroit: Become Human’. I changed the shape of those LEDs, but the Detroit fans will immediately recognise them. But Kara’s story is totally different from Dasha’s. In your proposal, please tell me: What strategy would you recommend for a book with this profile, and why? What channels would you prioritise? Whether you’ve marketed books outside mainstream American commercial fiction, particularly anything with international, European or Russian themes. How you handle reporting and communication. How you structure your pricing. Budget is negotiable. I’d rather invest in a focused strategy that reaches the right readers than pay for volume that reaches no one. I realise that you don’t have time to read all the works. Feel free to ask for a review copy. You may feed it to AI (Claude and Gemini are the most practical helpers in this regard), and I’ll tell you what the machine got right.

Luxury Packaging Designer- Magnetic Art
I am developing a new product called Magnetic Art, a premium educational collectible inspired by science and invisible forces. The product allows users to create three unique magnetic sculptures using resin, iron filings and magnetic fields. The sculptures permanently capture the geometry of magnetic fields, transforming invisible forces into physical works of art. The brand mission is: "Transforming invisible forces into experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity and discovery." The product is being positioned for: * Museum gift shop Over the past several months I have developed: * The brand identity * Product positioning * Packaging concepts * Instruction booklet concepts * Educational storytelling content * Manufacturing strategy The next stage is to work with an experienced packaging designer to elevate the concept into a fully realised, production-ready product experience. I have a small selection of concept visuals to provide an overview of the project upon request. At this stage I would be interested in discussing: * Tin artwork refinement * Production-ready packaging design * Premium finishing opportunities (embossing, spot UV, varnishes, metallic effects) * Instruction booklet design * Manufacturer-ready artwork and specifications Ultimately, I want the finished product to feel like something discovered in a museum shop rather than a traditional science kit. Scientific Analysis of Archaeological 3D Scans
I am looking for an individual specialist, not a company, to become a long term collaborator on a research project involving archaeological stone surfaces and high resolution 3D scans. The work involves analysis of large point clouds and mesh models from archaeological sites, including ancient Egyptian stone quarries and monuments. Key requirement: The analyst must be able to work at multiple scales. Many providers can analyse either an entire scan or a very small microscopic area. This project requires the ability to isolate, extract and analyse specific surface features within large scans. Examples include grooves, curved wear surfaces, edge transitions, flat wear zones, concave features and other localized geometries. Required skills: • Point cloud processing • Mesh analysis • Surface geometry analysis • Cross section extraction • Curvature analysis • Directionality and anisotropy analysis • Surface roughness analysis • Segmentation of specific features from larger scans • Scientific visualization and figure production • Python, MATLAB, CloudCompare, Geomagic, MeshLab or similar tools Preferred background: • Geomatics • Computational geometry • Mechanical engineering • Materials science • Archaeometry • Digital heritage • Scientific computing The ideal collaborator is curious, analytical and interested in developing new methods rather than simply running standard software workflows. This is intended as a long term collaboration. Initial work will be project based, but the goal is to establish an ongoing working relationship with a single specialist. When applying, please provide: Examples of previous point cloud or mesh analysis work. Description of software and methods used. Experience with scientific publications or research projects. Hourly rate. Availability for long term collaboration.
CRITICAL REVIEW IN BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES
TITLE (do not change): "The next parasite pandemic: could Plasmodium knowlesi become the next Plasmodium falciparum? Discuss the molecular events that led to P. falciparum zoonosis and what would be required for a P. knowlesi pandemic." BASICS: 2,000 words main text only. References and figure legends excluded. British English. Microsoft Word (.docx). Arial or Times New Roman size 12. Double spacing. Justified. Title page not counted. STRUCTURE: Introduction, 300-350 words. Establish global malaria burden and P. falciparum mortality dominance. Define zoonosis, host specificity, and molecular host barriers. Frame the central question. Close with a sentence outlining the review structure. Subheading 1: Evolutionary origin of P. falciparum and the zoonotic jump. Cover faecal DNA screening of wild great apes. Detail Laverania subgenus: Clade A (P. gaboni, P. adleri) and Clade B (P. praefalciparum, P. reichenowi, P. billcollinsi, P. falciparum). Present whole-genome evidence that P. falciparum descends from gorilla parasite P. praefalciparum, not chimpanzees. Subheading 2: The RH5-Basigin interaction and host restriction. Explain AVEXIS screening for low-affinity extracellular interactions. Discuss basigin (CD147, OK blood group antigen) as essential receptor whose blockade abolishes invasion. Detail the introgression of an 8kb genomic segment containing RH5 from a P. adleri ancestor into the P. falciparum lineage within a doubly infected gorilla. Explain that reconstructed ancestral RH5 bound both human and gorilla basigin. Describe H200Y substitution at position 200, which retained human basigin binding and eliminated gorilla binding. Note RH5 functions within a complex with CyRPA, RIPR, and P113. Subheading 3: P. knowlesi and its current zoonotic status. Describe P. knowlesi as a macaque parasite causing severe human infections in Malaysian Borneo. Evaluate its molecular invasion mechanisms and whether invasion ligands target basigin. Discuss evidence it completes an asexual blood-stage cycle in human erythrocytes. Subheading 4: What would be required for a P. knowlesi pandemic? Compare directly the molecular conditions that enabled P. falciparum human establishment against what is present or absent in P. knowlesi. Analyse barriers to human-to-human transmission. Assess plausibility of analogous introgression or mutational events. Identify research gaps and limitations of current in vitro evidence. Conclusion, 250-300 words. Answer the review question directly. State what evidence supports and what remains unresolved. Propose specific future research directions. CRITICAL EVALUATION: Do not summarise studies. Evaluate evidence and interrogate conclusions throughout. For every finding address: what it showed, how established, experimental limitations, and what it does not prove. End each subsection with an unresolved question or research gap. This is mandatory. Required standard example: Do not write "Crosnier et al. (2011) showed that RH5 binds basigin." Write instead: "Crosnier et al. (2011) demonstrated via AVEXIS that antibody-mediated blockade of RH5-basigin binding abolished erythrocyte invasion, establishing basigin as an essential receptor. Whether additional erythrocyte surface factors impose further constraints in vivo remains unresolved." HARVARD REFERENCING: In-text: (Author, Year), (Author and Author, Year), (Author et al., Year). Reference list alphabetical by first author surname. Format: Surname, Initial. (Year). Title. Journal, Volume(Issue), pages. DOI if available. Every in-text citation must match reference list. No PMID citations alone. Retrieve full details from pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov. CORE REFERENCES (these must be used in the critical review) These below must all be read, cited, and critically evaluated in the review: Cowman, PMID 28799908. Character Designs and Images for Podcast Webpage
I have recorded a scripted comedy science fiction podcast. I need some images for character designs and illustrating key scenes. I have designed a logo using AI but would prefer a human to have a go, especially someone experienced in comics and science fiction. I am open to ideas about what could be illustrated and would hopefully see this as an ongoing project as podcast developed. Here is a rough edit of opening episode: https://soundcloud.com/daniel-harkin-4/sets/altered-states-electric-dreams-a-beam
To stitch together for a panorama streetview picture
x2nos of panoramas of a streetview stitched from photos. There are 90 images on 1 and another of around 20 on 2 panorama. You do not need to use all of the provided photos, as long as the streetview panorama is not distorted. To make a task easy and without needing to resolve any distortions, you have more than 30% overlaps in jpeg images to stitch from. Do not apply for this task if you use an auto stitch app like a Bimostich which is with too much of an image distortion. It is not a rocket science and can do myself with Hugin or Photoshop, but am short on time. With your offer confirm if you can do 1 day turn around. In the attached files is the sample of 1, 2 and 3 photos of 90 series. Where a car or a tree blocks off a house, please use a google map streetview to copy/paste from the other houses in the images. It is also important to add the front garden fences at least very roughly to the house fronts whilst working from google map streetviews.
