N. K. on 13/05/2011 10:00Hi russel,
Here's the problem with your request: Most jobs are never awarded on PPH to anyone, they just lapse and fall off the list. So providing even a mock-up before being awarded a contract is fool-hardy. If you want the best designers to bid (and your budget suggests you do) then you need to drop the but about a mock-up.
Regards,
Nick Kimber

R. G. on 14/05/2011 22:48Hi,
Thanks for the message. I've amended the ad as suggested - it should change once it has been approved,
Russell
S. R. on 13/05/2011 10:53I agree with Nick I'm afraid, Russell. Asking for work on spec before commissioning a project is generally bad practice.
I do a lot of design for the web, and would be interested in submitting a proposal, but I wouldn't be including any pre-project creative.
This is what we have portfolios for...
R. M. on 13/05/2011 17:57Hi, I work with many web developers by doing the design work before they develop a website. I have very reasonable prices as well so you would get a lot for your budget. I won\'t be providing a mockup first though as I don\'t work like this and you haven\'t provided enough info to do this. Please let me know if you would like me to bid, thanks.

Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
