Title:Web Designer needed for one off Micro Site
Location:Anywhere
Job Description
Hi all,
I need some one to code, or possibly design from the ground up, a tiny little website that offers my services as a graduate employee. The concept is quite unique, I've never heard off anyone doing this before (outside of graphic design) and as a result I'm hoping to get a lot of press from the approach.
The Website should be similar to www.swedishfish.com I've attached my interpretation to this brief, and I'm happy to do whatever design stuff I can to keep costs down. My cousin gave the site a good effort however he is still new to web design and struggled with the Bid page. One really impressive thing he did was make the site expand or shrink to the users screen. I'd love it if this feature could be kept.
The website doesn't have to be designed in flash, just whatever gets the job done.
Being an unemployed grad my funds are pretty limited and I hope your bids can reflect this! Be kind! I'm enjoyable to work with and appreciate any creative input you that guys might have.
All in all I would love a really really cool, slick website that would be worthy of supporting a campaign that should spread nationally and possible internationally, for a poor mans budget...!
Hope you can help.
Cheers,
Kyle
P.S I'm aware the brief copy is all wrong and badly punctuated, this is getting finalised tomorrow.

C. M. on 31/08/2010 11:57Thanks Kyle - however until the brief for this particular job is available, it is a tricky one to cost because I do not know what the job entails complexity-wise you see...
I hope to hear from you soon!

K. C. on 31/08/2010 15:31Were you able to see the PDF from the link I provided in the last message?
just in case this website is funny with links - type the following in your browser replacing (dot) for .

The pdf shows how I would like the website to look. pages 4-8 show the quick CV page with pop up boxes when the relevant icon is clicked at the bottom of the Cv page.
Any other questions are welcomed.

J. W. on 31/08/2010 23:57Hello Kyle,
I think your project is great, definitely something I would love to help you with! I also have some pretty specific experience in this area.
Just to clarify before I bid,
You are looking for a website of around 10 pages that showcases your skills to any potential employer.
The site will need to have the bid feature that you mentioned, but no actual money will pass through the site?
You are looking for a 'fluid' feel to the site but don't necessarily require flash?
Will you require the domain name and hosting to be provided? Or have you sorted this already?
I look forward to hearing from you and submitting my bid.
Best Regards
Joel Warby
R. T. on 01/09/2010 05:34Hello Kyle
Do you want it to be a Full Flash Website or something that has a HTML page and a Flash page..?
I will be happy to Bid, let me know If you are happy on the PDF you provided, or you want it to be designed and develop.
Thanks,
Richard
Here are some practical tips on staying safe
- Never pay any money to Clients and or provide sensitive details like your Bank information, Credit Card or Passwords
- Never accept a Job if you have been directed away from PeoplePerHour to another website
- Be cautious when providing your personal contact details (email, telephone number, instant message ID etc) before your Bid is accepted
- If you have been asked to send samples, put a watermark on them or send low resolution examples to avoid being exposed and not getting paid
- Don’t start work before your Bid is accepted and your Escrow deposit is made
- Keep your Escrow account topped up and ensure that you use the Private Message Board to track all pertinent details about the Job e.g. timelines, deliverables etc
- Before you supply final works to Clients, ensure you have adequate funds in Escrow
Remember: if something looks too good to be true, it probably is!
