Job Description

Hi

I am in the process of setting up my own company, what i need is a great
website designer who can articulate my needs effectively.

I require the following - All in high quality :

This site has to look totally prestige (STRICTLY NO TEMPLATES or Amateurs), you must have a portfolio of works and a flare for design and detail.

The site will be SEO friendly and coded using latest techniques and standards.

Would love someone who can give me ideas, suggestions and creative in their approach, its not a complex site but it has to look the part to appeal my target audience.

Thank you !

Hello Sam

At one level you are asking for a website with "pages", and then you mention a CMS...

Today, most (good) websites are what are known as Dynamic Content - and don't actually comprise "pages"... so to say yopu want " a website with x-number of pages" is meaningless.

If you want your site to be a CMS, then start it out that way... it will be easier and cheaper... you don't "add CMS functionality" later.

Dynamic content sites are configured (and costed) on their FUNCTIONALITY - not the content. It's what you wnat the site to DO that matters, not what you want it to CONTAIN.

Content is the (relatively) easy bit... The way to define your project is to go into as much detail as you can, about what you want your site to DO for your new business.

The main thing you want it to DO is contribute tangibly to your revenues and profits - and to be measurable in this regard.

If you re-state (in detail) what you are expecting your site to do, and what you want it to deliver, then you will get a better quality of freelancer bidding, and helping you achieve your business objectives.

True... there are thousands of people out there who can "build websites".

There are not many who can help you create and vmanage an internet presence that tangibly contributes to your business's success.

Hi GrahamThank you for your advise, it is clear that this is not my arena and I have simply chosen all the options as it were without understanding the tradeoffs with having such a system. I just need a well designed site where i can update some of the text if needed, its simply a site to state the services we offer but need it professionally built to appeal to the required audience. If you feel you can help please bid so we we can discuss further.RegardsSam

Hi Sam
It sounds like you need a 'brochure style' website with the ability to change certain areas without jeopardising the design/layout, in which case the number of pages is relevant. This is no problem.
I would like to know more about the brochure i.e. size - A4. Full colour? number of pages? Content? (do you have pictures/ Is the text written? who is the target audience? How do you intend to distribute them?
I have a page on my web site which would help you to know what you need to prepare.
Also would you require printing estimates? If so I would need to know quantities for each item.
Regards
Kevin

Hi KevinI am open to suggestions at the moment, the brochure is going to be trifold colour, the text/content is going to be written by a copywriter and the design layout would be discussed between us at the time. Target audience is professional upmarket clients. Initial distribution via a mailshot with a sales letter included. Initial mailshot of around 1000 and then measure the response from then.So if you can get printing estimates then great, would need to be on high quality paper for the sales letter, brochure and envelope.RegardsSam
