Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: We develop databases in MS Access using VBA
Num. of modules: 1
Description of every module: One function required to upload an XML file to a web service via an HTTP request, using VBA
Description of requirements/functionality: I need to be able to upload an XML file to a web service, by supplying the path to the XML file and the URL of the web service. I have the API documentation for the web service, although it seems a little sketchy. I have a working example in VB .Net, but need to re-create this in VBA, for use in an MS Access database. The function should
a) Upload the file, returning a success notification, or
b) Return error information as to why the upload failed.
I have several pieces of code that I've tried to adapt from Googling, some of which appear to work (ie return no errors) but the data hasn't been uploaded, and some of which return an error ("The parameter is incorrect"), apparently caused by an empty string being received at the server, even though the string appears to hold the XML data when it's posted.
I don't think this should be hard for anyone with experience of this sort of thing in VBA.....
Thanks
Specific technologies required: VBA
OS requirements: Windows
