Our portfolio on PPH showcases a few of the more than 300 eComm and Showcase sites we have built. We have MANY references, but we do not publish them on PPH.
I see there is an attempt at a Joomla site for "biowood"... Is this yours?
Joomla is NOT a good platform on which to base eCommerce as the Virtumart eComm plugin is NOT PCI/PA-DSS compliant (use Google to see what that means).
You need a proper, PCI/PA-DSS compliant platform, located on a compliant server, that is properly configured to handle the complexities of eCommerce - particularly secure and safe bi-directional communication behind SSL, both with customers and the payment processing gateway.
UK Configuration is also an issue... MANY freelancers are unaware of the need to make the site operate properly in the UK online environment. They will build a site, then leave you to fathom out how to configure it - can be difficult and costly if the incorrect platform is installed. Then there is the issue of the ICO Directive on Session ID Compliance (Due to be enforced in law in MAY 2012)...
You would do well to thoroughly research these issues, along with:
Data Privacy Act
Distance Selling Regulations
Price Marking Order 2004
UK Date and Spelling Formatting
UK Shipping Configurations
VAT Compliance and the Consumer Protection Act
There is a LOT MORE to selling online than just having a simple website.
Your chosen freelancer must be able to PROVE he/she has a full understanding of all of the above (and much more), and is in a position to help and guide you in these issues, and how their software will help you meet all the required laws and compliance issues that relate to selling online.
