Cake PHP developer

Overview:
This is a Web Developer role in a business venture that started in February 2010 reporting directly to the new business venture Chief Operating Officer.
The Web Developer is responsible to maintain the web site and web portal, using a combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge including HTML, CSS, PHP and PHP Frameworks such as PHP Cake. As well as the web development the web developer will be responsible for the build and development of the MYSQL databases. Plus the handling of all third party feeds and EDI commutations with Publishers
The role requires a capable developer with extensive experience in working on large retail site with large audiences.
Responsibilities:
The Web Developer is responsible:
• For the creation of new ideas for the site.
• for the creation of web portals for consumer and business customers;
• To maintain the site.
• writing web pages in a combination of codes, HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, Cake PHP, JavaScript, XML;
• for the implementation of APIs into other key business applications;
• to ensure that material on the website is accessible in different browsers and at different resolutions;
• to ensure that material on the web site is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities;
• to ensure that the website is secure from malicious activity;
• to maintain the database design;
• for the database integration to web portals;
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
• Provide some example websites where you have substantially or fully developed the site
• Can clearly demonstrate experience in building web developments for high volume activity;
• The candidate must articulate their experience in developing web developments using frameworks;
• The candidate must be able to work to deadlines;
• The web developments will be hosted on a Linux environment so the candidate must have Linux experience;
